I really don't know how Barclays got 2nd number in banking sector in the world.... REALLY DON'T KNOW....

I am really very sorry but I have to say that Barclays has the staff of BAD customer services. ONE YEAR BEFORE, I tried to open a bank account in Barclays bcoz I "heard" that Barclays is good bank :) I am on student visa. They refuse to open my bank account at Ealing Broadway Branch that I am not working.... I was new in UK on that time.... who will give me work without a bank account? And the customer representatives said that they can't open my account if I don't have work and refused straight away.

Then I goes to Barclays West Ealing Branch, they said that they want bank statement of any UK's bank account or any utility bill as proof of address. I told them that I dont have any bank account in UK and I am new here, where from can I give you utility bills on my name?. They reject my provisional driving licence as well as my college's letter as proof of address. Then I went to Barclays South Ealing Branch, they fill out Cash Card account form and stamps on my documents photocopies and advised me to send by post to Leeds. I sent the application there. They reject my application with the objections that:-

1) I have not entered any monthly income (even I mentioned that I am student and not working then what should be my monthly income?) and

2) that the Barclays Branch staff not mentioned his/her employee number on stamps (IS THE MY FAULT?).

I forgot everything and opened bank account in another bank. Now I again approached to Barclays Hounslow High Street Branch to get information about account opening. The customer representative lady was really have bad customer service attitude and talked with me as I am a thief not a customer. And she also reject to open my bank account, because I have bank account in another bank. She told me that I have to close other bank account then Barclays will open my account... (WHERE ARE THESE RULES?) And if I don't have another bank account, they wants bank statement and if I have another bank account then they want to close it.... WHAT IS THIS?

I am really very surprised that THIS IS WORLD'S LARGEST BANK :) I will not go there again in my life...

If Barclays is world's largest and famous bank, its all due to customers that they have customers. They should understand that THERE IS NO BUSINESS WITHOUT CUSTOMERS. Therefore, they should give respect to the customers.

MY QUESTION IS STILL THERE THAT HOW BARCLAYS GOT SECOND POSITION IN BANKING SECTOR IN THE WORLD???????
