Use & Effects

It is recommended that you use Bare Escentuals Full Coverage Kabuki Brush for full face coverage and Bare Escentuals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush for more specific areas when applying Bisque to your skin. I would actually agree with this, as I do find it makes a real difference and maximises the effect on your skin. I recently lost my Kabuki Brush and had to buy a similar looking one in Superdrug and I can really notice the difference, it doesn't feel as soft on my skin and apply the product evenly and smoothly. I will definately be purchasing another Kabuki Brush. After you have applied your foundation, and I would really recommend using BareMinerals SPF Foundation, it is the same texture and consistency as Bisque and the two products work fantastically together, but if you don't want to use this, you can still use it ontop of other foundations too but you must note you won't recieve the full benefits of the mineral contents as your other foundation will contain nasty ingredients.

To apply Bisque, first of all swirl the brush inside the lid, absorbing a small amount of BareMinerals onto your brush, tap to remove the excess and then buff the powder onto your skin or the specific area you want to cover. You can apply as much as you like, but it is best to apply a small amount and add to it if you feel necessary. When applying as a concealer to dark circles, blemishes, scars etc, first apply your foundation and then follow the instructions for applying above and buff a small amount into that area, if you are doing this, it is best to use the Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush. There is also a video on Bare Escentuals website showing you how to use the product, the demo is of the foundation, but you apply Bisque the same, I thought it might be quite useful for some people to see it actually been done, as I know it helped me - http://www.bareminerals.co.uk/?page=howto.

As Bisque is a concealer, yet comes in powder form it takes some time to get used to, you will feel as if you don't have to coverage on your face, as it feels so light and feather like on your skin, but when you look in the mirror you will see it gives you even better coverage than a liquid or stick foundation as it doesn't build up ontop or clog up your skin. When you have a spot, it can usually be a bit dry and flakey and a normal concealer would usually just stick to the dry bits and highlight it but Bisque does not do this, it doesn't highlight it, instead it lightly dusts over it and blends in perfectly to your skin, making it look like the blemish isn't there. This works the same on scars, rosacea, pigmentation problems and dark circles. I find Bisque is one of the only concealers that helps cover my dark circles. I find my dark circles are always there and are really bad, Bisque glides over, doesn't highlight any puffyness and disguises most of the dark circle, but I am still left with a small amount left. Mine are so much worse than most peoples however so it will perfectly cover normal dark circles. You should first apply your foundation and then apply Bisque to any areas that are still showing through the foundation. You can use Bisque as a concealer, full face colour or as a base for your eyeshadows which I personally find fantastic. It creates a smooth surface for your eyeshadow to be applied to and also helps the eyeshadow to not slip and last longer, it also won't crease or get oily, so your eyeshadow will remain perfect throughout the day. BareMinerals also say you can mix Bisque with other BareMinerals products such as the foundation. Bisque is quite an earthy colour, so if you have a tan, it is quite good to mix with your foundation just to give that more natural tan look. You can also mix it to your eyeshadows to create different shades. All BareMinerals products are the same powder consistency so they mix perfectly together.

Bisque doesn't cling to your skin and look cakey, instead it looks even, smooth and natural. If you have fairly good skin and don't tend to wear foundation, you can just lightly buff Bisque over your skin to give you some colour and coverage. You don't end up with a line between your face and neck like you do with a lot of make ups, providing more reason for Bisque to look so natural on your skin. It also does not transfer onto clothes, so you don't have to worry about transferring it onto your boyfriends clothes! As Bisque is so weightless, you cannot feel that you are wearing make up and it doesn't tighten your skin, especially as it all looks so natural and it just looks like you have perfect skin. I have recieved so many compliments about my make up and how perfect it always looks - it's all thanks to BareMinerals.

All BareMinerals products are suitable for all skin types - oily, dry, combination and sensitive as it has factors to suit all those skin types. As it is in a powder form it is great for oily skin, as it absorbs the excess oil without it showing, sticking and looking cakey on your skin. If your skin gets oily whilst on, you can just buff over and it absorbs the oil. Bisque is a light weight feathery powder, which doesn't cling to your skin and doesn't highlight any dry patches, it glides over these areas and makes your skin look even and fresh. As it contains all natural mineral ingredients only it is suitable for sensitive skin, it doesn't contain any preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance and other potential skin irritants and is free of fillers and binders, which makes the perfect foundation for sensitive skin. I suffer from ecezma on my face and this is the only make up I can wear on it without it sticking to it and causing irritation and swelling. It also is fantastic for covering up any marks on your skin and patches of ecezma and such things, it doesn't cling to it and perfectly masks any marks, covering them up without you being able to see the make up on it.

BareMinerals cannot be compared to other mineral make ups that have recently come onto the market such as loreal, other products do not contain pure minerals, they still contain nasty ingredients so it's not good for your skin and they don't even look good on your skin either.

It is easy to remove, you can use cleanser, make up remover or facial wipes. As it is pure minerals, Warmth is actually okay to sleep in - it won't bring you out in spots as it allows your skin to breathe whilst on and does not clog your pores. Obviously it is best to sleep with no make up on whatsover, but if you forget or don't have anything to remove it with then it doesn't matter.

Bisque can be purchased for £17 for a 0.3oz pot. You will find it in any salon stocking BareMinerals products and on various websites such as www.lookfantastic.com. It is a very popular product in salons and in the one I work in, we are forever having so many customers purchase it, it is not always in stock, so it is best to pre-order it or don't wait until you have run out, if purchasing from a salon.

Conclusion

Bisque is a fantastic multi-tasking concealer, it can be used on your face for coverage, on blemishes, scars, rosacea, as a base for your make up and eyeshadow and to mix with other BareMinerals products to create customised colours. I don't think £17 is too much to pay for this, as it can be used for so many different things. I would really recommend it as it works fantastically and provides smooth, even and flawless coverage to your skin everytime.
