Advantages Good source of cheap, quality products.
Disadvantages Occassional naff rubbish and prices can sometimes be misleading.

Brilliant Bargains at the local store. 04/11/2003

Advantages Some real bargains, changing selection – lots of in-store special offers e.g. 75% off clearance sales.
Disadvantages Have to visit store regularly, often less popular sizes (not always a disadvantage)

Well for some reason this company has three entries at Ciao – so this op concentrates on those can’t be missed bargains at the local store – trainers for 75p, wardrobes for £45, all brand new… Not sure where to start, but I’ve introduced the Bargain Crazy store with my opinion for the www.bargaincrazy.com Ciao entry which goes as follows “They also have shops (formally CBS) and locations can be got from the Website – our local one is at Newtown, from there we have bought lots of clothes, shoes etc, a cot for £60.00, some furniture e.g. 3 door robe reduced from £189 to £45, and for the same ... more

Littlewoods Clearance 21/03/2007

Advantages Some amazing prices on top quality products
Disadvantages I keep wanting to go back.

I have just visited my old home town for the first time in years and there was a new sign on the High Street - Littlewoods Clearance. It had replaced what I remembered to be a slightly down trodden catalogue shop that had never really been on my radar. I was shopping for things for a new house so figured, nothing ventured, nothing gained and went inside. As an aside to this review, I am not normally a discount shopper, I can't be bothered with all the rooting through piles of junk, so many of these places resemble a bad charity shop and I'd rather pay a bit more to find what I am looking for ... more

Quick review of Bargain Crazy (bargaincrazy.com) by Biffdando 29/10/2007

Unfortunately I did not have such a good experience of using this website. Ordered a pair of boots which, when they came, were completely different to the picture. So far have had to wait in on 2 separate occassions for couriers who have not shown up. Some of the staff extremely helpful but one member of staff very rude and patronising. Will not be using this website again which is a shame as it does seem as though there are some genuine bargains to be had. less

I tend to agree with Biffdando. This shop (and I've only ever used them online) often offers keen bargains. But - as with so many online shops - we have to end up judging them by what happens when something goes wrong. And I'm afraid in this respect they don't measure up. This is just based on a couple of purchases, but they were so slow in delivering and slow to answer queries I'm afraid I won't be using them again. To be fair, it may be that they have a courier problem - but if so that's their problem, not the customer's. less ... more
