On the rare occasions my nails are all the same length I like to have a Frenchmanicure. For special occasions I don't mind paying a professional but the rest of the time I am more then happy to have a go myself. This can have varying degrees of success ranging from looking ok to having white polish and those little guide stickers all over the place.
I hate the little white stickers you use as guides for painting the tips of your nails. I can never get them on straight and then when I take them off they tend to smug the varnish. So when I saw this manicurekit from Bourgois I thought it could be the answer.

my friend had had this kit bought for her as a christmas present and asked me to do her nails for her. i prepared her nails and gave her a manicure ready to paint. i applied the basecoat which went on smoothly, but then you cant realy go wrong with a bit of basecoat. then went on the pink layer of varnish.. which took quite a while to dry, but did dry with a smooth surface. i used the stickers supplied with the kit to apply the white to the tips, but i didnt find them much good. where i had painted the white on, which was quite runny so took a while to dry, it had seeped under the stickers and had smudged when i took the stickers off. so it all had to come off and be re-done. i never used the stickers the second time round, i painted the white freehand which i ...

I have always fancied manicured nails, and being too tight to pay anyone to do this for me I decided to buy Avon’s Frenchmanicure set for 3.50GBP (normally 5.00GBP).
I think I was expecting great results and maybe I had my hopes too high, but I really wasn’t impressed with the results. The first time I tried I just thought I had done something wrong, but after the third attempt I gave up and just put a normal colour on my nails, because they looked a lot neater.
