Advantages: Roomy, Good cd system, air con, comfy drive, good of road capability Disadvantages: Bad electrics on older models, like trying to berth the Ark Royal parking (LWB)
...Mechanicaly sound cos its Izuzu, but that means turbo air intake failure £165 . Electrics made in Taiwan, no seriously worse than that made by vauxhall. My dad has a S reg LWB2.2 Dti ltd manual I have a S reg LWB 2.2 Dti Ltd auto both diesels have done nearly 100K my dad having his from new (poor bloke) On the farm they are ace of road with the ability to not tilt over like other 4x4s and fall over and i have also never heard of any troubles with them jumping out of 2x drive into 4x drive like other 4x4 on the road (you owners know who you are but havnt got the guts to admit it after reading this). Advantages: The ultimate soft-roader with class and style Disadvantages: Fuel economy (or lack of it....)
..., well... 4.6 Litres of raw sexy power really shows when you put your foot down. However, it shows in the fuel economy. Taking it easy will get you about 20pmg, but around town, or with a lead foot will get you about 8-10mpg! Not a car for those on a tight budget.
In summary, it is a very sexy status symbol. But as I am now 32, and successful - I really don't care! Life is too long to be miserable :o)

Advantages: none except for the namebrand ??? Disadvantages: All you can think about and your nightmares becomes reality.
...I am almost 50 and have driven numerous cars in my life. From American cars to Japanese cars to European cars. My previous car was a 2002 BMW 525i sedan. And, last year I purchased a new 2006 E280 GAS w/auto trans. SInce the beginning, it has never been satisfactory for me. It went in and out of the service garage. First, a bearing was changed after doing only 500 kilometers. Second, I had the airconditiong system checked and cleaned coz there was a very awful smell of dust, just like an old house, everytime I turned on the
aircondition. It will only go away when it has reach the cold temp. The tech told me that this is a very common problem with the E Class and other Benz models. Third, the engine knocks resulting from a bad EGR Valve, replaced. Now, Still waiting for new problems to come up.
Till now, It has ran only 9300 kilometers...
