will reel in sporting enthusiasts and even a few hardcore gamers. This realistic 3-D bass fishing simulation shines with three distinct gaming modes, eight fishing environments, and 13 different lures.Let's be honest here. Fishing simulation games aren't for everyone. Many hardcore gamers will likely bypass this title because they believe the genre lacks the instant gratification of fast-moving shooters. That's a shame. Though it might not be everyone's can of worms, Sega Bass Fishing does offer a subtle, highly addictive gaming experience that will challenge even the most seasoned of game veterans. This isn't Quake, to be sure. But you'll need similar gaming smarts and strategies to succeed in this water-based sporting environment. It takes a skilled aim and a steady hand to hook and reel in the largest fish, which are surrounded by smaller, less desirable catches. There's nothing worse than casting your lure directly at a monster-sized bass only to have it intercepted by a meddlesome minnow. We encountered more than our share of near misses, which gives us virtual bragging rights to "the one that got away".While some gamers will prefer the subtlety of free-form fishing without time constraints, this game also features a fast-action arcade mode that requires the player to meet a minimum quota of catches before advancing to a new fishing environment. An optional Dreamcast fishing controller (sold separately) makes the task of catching these underwater critters all the easier. The controller, which also adds a realistic rumble when you catch a fish, is a highly recommended accessory for the ultimate home fishing experience. --Brett Atwood, Amazon.com Pros:Near-perfect translation from the hit arcade game Eight realistic 3-D fishing environments Three different game modes to choose from Great control with optional fishing controller (sold separately) Cons:Game genre will not appeal to everyone
these days. The best anglers are even earning top-dolar endorsement deals. But you don't need to be a seasoned pro to appreciate the beautiful fish and spectacular scenery in this 2008 Bass Fishing wall calendar. Whether you are a bass fishing enthusiast who enjoys cooking your prey at the end of the day, or one who prefers to catch and release, be inspired with this wall calendar. Outstanding outdoor photography offers a fitting tribute to this great sport.
Advantages: Extremely Addictuve, Great Graphics Disadvantages: Needs the rod to experiance the full potential
Sega Bass fishing is a brilliant game for the dreamcast, although it is expensive, it is extremely addictive, it doesn’t take very long to complete, unless you try for the championship, and it only has three levels, plus a secret level, the best thing about buying this game is the fishing rod, the game seems boring when heard of through speech, but when you play it with the rod, it is great, without the rod, it isn’t anything special. The rod vibrate, ...

when i first played sega bass i did not know what to expect from a game that is based on an industry that i have never really liked. i was pleasently suprised to begin with, i was 'hooked.' but as the first week drew to a close i began to get bored with the game as the repetitive aspect of poor a game began to kick in. it was fun for a while but after that, nothing interested me about it at all. on the rare occasion that the disc is put into my machine ...

Advantages: Graphics are - wow! Disadvantages: Longevity
...you'll be catching the super bass within a few hours - there is a choice of bait, but there is only one type of Fish - Bass. Now this would not matter, except bass look so dull - and swim so slowly - I hope the next Sega Fishing game provides more than one fish type! There are 3 modes - practice, Original - where you can go through a long and tiresome series of fishing tournaments - which will apparently get you the 'Sonic Lure' - I couldn't find ... ...there is the Arcade mode - which is pretty stupid also - You get a measly 1-minute to catch 5000g worth of fish! So - should you get this game? Well if you like this sort of thing - just rent it, as you'll be done with it before you have to return to your video store. I paid a measly £25.59 for the game - so I wasn't too disappointed that I'd wasted my money - as it happens - I sold the game on at a £5 profit. As for the loading times? Well - get ...

Advantages: Very origional Disadvantages: expensive game ,when you buy the fishing rod.
When Sega announced a fishing game the entire industry laughed at the thought. But out of a wacky idea comes a very good game which is not dull or boring (unlike the actual sport). This game has a very simple plan catch fish. But to do this there are many different bates and lots of skill to move the bait towards the fish. There are several different locations to fish with add a difference. The graphics are good and with the fishing adapter for the ...

...the quiet outdoors, but Sega Bass Fishing brings the high points of fishing into a single disk. Graphics:4.5 The graphics are pretty clear for what I was expecting. Several lures are available that are original, unique, and life like. The surrounding environment are quite detailed for a fishing game. Sewer pipes semerge above some waves and fish outlines break the surface. Underneath the lake is just as sharp and realistic. The water is murky and ... ...deep they go. The small fish will attack the line at once, but the big fish don't really seem to care as much. Overall, even if you don't like fishing, you'll love Sega Bass Fishing. It's a perfect translation and it's more exciting than "REEL" fishing! Buy it! ...
