will reel in sporting enthusiasts and even a few hardcore gamers. This realistic 3-D bass fishing simulation shines with three distinct gaming modes, eight fishing environments, and 13 different lures.Let's be honest here. Fishing simulation games aren't for everyone. Many hardcore gamers will likely bypass this title because they believe the genre lacks the instant gratification of fast-moving shooters. That's a shame. Though it might not be everyone's can of worms,Sega Bass Fishingdoes offer a subtle, highly addictive gaming experience that will challenge even the most seasoned of game veterans. This isn'tQuake, to be sure. But you'll need similar gaming smarts and strategies to succeed in this water-based sporting environment. It takes a skilled aim and a steady hand to hook and reel in the largest fish, which are surrounded by smaller, less desirable catches. There's nothing worse than casting your lure directly at a monster-sized bass only to have it intercepted by a meddlesome minnow. We encountered more than our share of near misses, which gives us virtual bragging rights to "the one that got away".While some gamers will prefer the subtlety of free-form fishing without time constraints, this game also features a fast-action arcade mode that requires the player to meet a minimum quota of catches before advancing to a new fishing environment. An optional Dreamcast fishing controller (sold separately) makes the task of catching these underwater critters all the easier. The controller, which also adds a realistic rumble when you catch a fish, is a highly recommended accessory for the ultimate home fishing experience. --Brett Atwood, Amazon.comPros:Near-perfect translation from the hit arcade gameEight realistic 3-D fishing environmentsThree different game modes to choose fromGreat control with optional fishing controller (sold separately)Cons:Game genre will not appeal to everyone

when i first played sega bass i did not know what to expect from a game that is based on an industry that i have never really liked. i was pleasently suprised to begin with, i was 'hooked.' but as the first week drew to a close i began to get bored with the game as the repetitive aspect of poor a game began to kick in. it was fun for a while but after that, nothing interested me about it at all. on the rare occasion that the disc is put into my machine ...

Advantages: Graphics are - wow! Disadvantages: Longevity
...- with no competition until Sega Marine Fishing is released, and so it is the best game in it's class/genre - but then it is pretty much the worst. As for the game play - well it plays all right - the fish do respond well and you'll be catching the super bass within a few hours - there is a choice of bait, but there is only one type of Fish - Bass. Now this would not matter, except bass look so dull - and swim so slowly - I hope the next Sega Fishing ... ...There are 3 modes - practice, Original - where you can go through a long and tiresome series of fishing tournaments - which will apparently get you the 'Sonic Lure' - I couldn't find this anywhere - and I completed the game twice! And there is the Arcade mode - which is pretty stupid also - You get a measly 1-minute to catch 5000g worth of fish! So - should you get this game? Well if you like this sort of thing - just rent it, as you'll be done with ...

Review of Sega Bass Fishing (Dreamcast)
Advantages: Very origional Disadvantages: expensive game ,when you buy the fishing rod.
When Sega announced a fishing game the entire industry laughed at the thought. But out of a wacky idea comes a very good game which is not dull or boring (unlike the actual sport). This game has a very simple plan catch fish. But to do this there are many different bates and lots of skill to move the bait towards the fish. There are several different locations to fish with add a difference. The graphics are good and with the fishing adapter for the ...

Advantages: Good Graphics, Easy to get into. The Rod is cool Disadvantages: Poor sound. Once you've completed it you may get boerd.
...into the quiet outdoors, but Sega Bass Fishing brings the high points of fishing into a single disk. Graphics:4.5 The graphics are pretty clear for what I was expecting. Several lures are available that are original, unique, and life like. The surrounding environment are quite detailed for a fishing game. Sewer pipes semerge above some waves and fish outlines break the surface. Underneath the lake is just as sharp and realistic. The water is murky ... ...deep they go. The small fish will attack the line at once, but the big fish don't really seem to care as much. Overall, even if you don't like fishing, you'll love Sega Bass Fishing. It's a perfect translation and it's more exciting than "REEL" fishing! Buy it! ...

Advantages: A funny game Disadvantages: Soon gets boring
You would know the gag if you have played the game. If you hook a big fish and land it, the commentator decides to lose all control of himself and screeches "ITS HUGE!" at the top of his voice. So what is this game all about? Surely you cant make an arcade game about a passive pastime like fishing can you? Well you can and its quite good. You select whether you want to go match fishing or just practice. If you go for match play, you have to make ... ...is quite easy to start with but gets progressively harder. You can select where you fish. you can go up to fish in the lake or even up at some form of gateways and locks on the pond! you also get to choose what you want to lure the fish with. Will big billy bass want to nibble on a floater today or perhaps a spinner? How about a plug? Its your choice! Hooking the fish is easy, as is the landing of them as long as you follow the instructions and dont ...

Advantages: Takes A Long Time To Complete Disadvantages: Costs A Lot Of Money
This is a brilliant game, I have only played it on the dreamcast console and it is one of the best games I have, Aswell as segabassfishing, this is a combination of a fighting game and a management game, of course, because it is on the dreamcast, this game will cost a lot of money, but I feel it is worth it, unlike many games, this one is not able to be completed in one day, if you manage to become the champion of one boxer, then new boxers appear to complete, at an estimate, I would suggest this game takes a month to complete, if played virtually non stop and needs no extra components to play (a certain controller) ...
Advantages: Fun at parties Disadvantages: Quickly becomes dull
Segabassfishing was first a hit in the arcades, it was the first truly arcade fishing game seen complete with an actual fishing rod. Now on the dreamcast this game was expected to be released when the console was released back in October. The dreamcast version is exactly the same as the arcade version even down to the rod but this is where the problem with the game arises. It was designed for the arcades where you have a quick game just for the novelty factor, at home the game soon becomes dull and repetitive and only comes out when a few mates come around and the beers start to flow. And by the way if you do buy this game you have to get a rod as well it just isnt the same without it. ...
Advantages: Easy to get into. No expierience needed. Disadvantages: Rather dodgy. Bad Garphics. Bad sound
of Fisherman?s Bait, I started to get bored and played a different game. Fisherman?s Bait has barely any entertainment in it unless you really like to fish. The game although has some realism as you try to reel in strong fish using real-life tactics. Overall, Fisherman?s Bait is a bad fishing game with little realism and no entertainment value that should be thrown back into the sea . Unless you are a diehard fishing fan, then you should rent the game first instead running out and buying it.
If you are a great fishing fan get Get Bass for the SegaDreamcast. It really is a class game and the little rod is great. It is so easy to play and will keep you goin' for ages! ...
