Marshall 7152 Dynamic Bass Cabinet
Review of Marshall 7152 Dynamic Bass Cabinet by wukintn

Advantages: Good sound
Disadvantages: Heavy!

...and use it with a Marshall 3520 integrated bass amp 200w MOSFET. Initially, I had problems. At mid-volumes the bottom end would fart and lose power. After seeking advice, I was told that the amp couldn't cope with the "low" impedance cab. The amp is rated at 200w at 4 ohms; I measured the cab and found it was 3.4 ohms, slightly less than the 4 ohms stated on the rear plate. I then rewired the cab - two 10" speakers in series, then paralelled with ...
...Stingray (4 string) through it. I bought an Ovation 5 string acoustic bass and found that the internal preamp made the sound too "boomy" through the Marshall gear. I now plug straight into the retuen socket of the effects loop which by passes the amp's preamp. Very happy with it! ... Read review

Fender Bassman
Review of Fender Bassman by lukus187

Advantages: wow what a guitar and so cheap
Disadvantages: Do not leave by the fire as the neck will mess up on you

What an excellent guitar. A lot of craftwork gone into it. Complete with a solid body, and one of the most beutiful sound on each note. For the price i thought great ill have to pick one up. I have never really used any other guitar since. I picked this up in an sonic blue clue, looks really swift. If you are just starting out on the guitar.... ideal for practicing with, and really does look the part. Impress all your mates with this beauty as once ...
...again. I love how they took that strong buzzing sound out of the bottom E, as it makes the guitar sound a lot cleaner and better when using distortion effects. A very big craze actaully in the nottingham area with them, but whos surprised at such a great guitar for so so cheap. ... Read review

This amp covers all basses!
Review of Laney Hardcore MAX HCM15B Bass Practice Amplifier by MatthewForshaw

Advantages: Wide Tonal Range, Quality Construction, Price
Disadvantages: No Reverb

Features ------------ The Laney Hardcore MAX HCM15B contains a wide range of features which makes it an excellent combo practice amp or an amp for a small performance. The amp features a 15watt custom 8” driver which is more than adequate for its application and can get to amazing volumes with no distortion, onboard headphone controller and compressor. The amp also features a CD/Line input jack and Bass/ Swept Middle/Treble/Master knobs. The only ...
...Expandability ------------------- The Laney Hardcore MAX HCM15B Bass Practice Amplifier is very expandable as it enables the connection of an additional bass cab utilising the existing inputs although for the price of the additional cab you would probably be best to purchase a Laney Bass Head for this application. This could prove to be very useful if you would like the extra power of a cabinet but you do not have the money to buy a bass head, ... Read review

Peavey MicroBass Amp
Review of Peavey Microbass by Roden

Advantages: A nice little practice amp
Disadvantages: gets a bit fuzzy when you turn up the gain too much

...my amp! i bought my peavey microbass the day i bought my bass, there like brothers now, a peavey amp and a peavey bass, beautiful *whipes away tear* Anyway, the amp itself is approx 24cm in height, approx 30 cm wide, and approx 22 cm deep. Id say it weights about 20 lbs too. so if you measure it up, its pretty small. Its only a 20W amp, but dont let the size fool you, this baby can get pretty loud with the bass volume and amp gain at full, infact, ...
...on this grate is the peavey logo as writing at the top, and the logo symbol at the bottom. At the top of the amp is where you have all your controls and things. from left to right it goes like this: Input( where you plug in your lead, which in turn is connected to your bass), The gain control, The low, then mid, then high equalization (gives you different sounds by putting the knobs to different numbers (between 0 and 10)) Headphones (obviously ... Richter rocks my socks
Review of Laney RBC410 by robm

Advantages: Great sound, loud, great price.
Disadvantages: Heavy! also poor handle position.

The Laney RBC410 is a bass speaker cabinet from the Richter range. I has 4 10 inch speakers and a tweeter, and can handle 240 Watts of power. The RBC is designed to be used in conjunction with the RBH700 head amplifier, and like the RBH, the RBC is excellent value for money. At a mere £280 (maybe less if you shop around), you wont find a brand new 4 by 10 for any cheaper. And even though its a cheap price, the quality of the product is not cheap. ...
...fifteen inch speaker aswell, and laney make a matching Richter bass cab with just one 15 for this purpose. I am also very impressed with the build quality of this cab. It is very sturdy, has strong metal handles, and hard wearing corner pieces, which is great because ive bashed it plenty, but the metal corner protecters only have a couple of little scrapes on them. One problem i have with this amp is that it is heavy to carry around. although it ... Read review
