I am moving up in the world of Bass Guitar playing, and really it was time for me to take a step up from my cheap beginner bass. The first thing to do is to consider manufacturer, for me the choice was easy - all of my favourite bands bass players use them - Ibanez, well respected amung the music business I didn't really look any further than Ibanez. Obviously I wasn't ready to move into the £500+ bracket, so I lowered my sights and found this. ...
...up I headed to a music shop to give one a go. What a sound, really - the sound is fantastic, it's not just a bass sound there is real tone and sound quality to it. Everything feels so well made and looks it too - the volume and tone knobs (of which there are 2 volume and a tone) are designed to look see through side on and silvery from front on, very nice touch. Also the huge chrome pickups look fantastic, through in truth they can get in the way ...

Good value for money

Advantages: Good sounds, playability
Disadvantages: Basic appearance

This was the first bass guitar i ever owned and i think that it is a perfect place to start. It is great value for money and although it isn't really anything special, it is very reliable and sounds good. The build quality is good and i have not had any problems with this guitar. g4m bass guitar pack the best for a begginer and experienced

Advantages: sounds good, great price, good website, very playable, looks great.
Disadvantages: gig bag not so good, strap not so good.

Fender standard jazz!

Advantages: Very versatile, excellent quality
Disadvantages: More expensive than the standard precision

...I used to own a fender standard precision bass but the jazz completely beats that, being a lot more versatile and easier to play i prefer it, but still make sure you try both out! Review of Fender Standard Jazz Electric Bass

First Bass that you couldn't forget

Advantages: Alder body, P/J pickup, nice warm and bright tone, versatile, very light, great playability
Disadvantages: so-so pickup quality

This was my first bass ,made in Indonesia, and i am still using it until now. In my opinion this is a great bass, even for an intermediate player. I played mainly alternative rock, japanese rock, and sometimes metal, and this bass suits me well. P/J pickup combination enabling me to create various kind of tone, even though the quality is not that good ( i would like to replace them with EMGs or Bartolinis ). The action, fit, and finish are very nice, ...
...no major flaws. The reliability also dependable, i 've played the instruments for one years and it had no problems at all. So the final judgment is: this is a great bass for beginner to intermediate player, compared to other bass in the same range price such as Squier , RBX 270 is definitely the best.
