The Epiphone series is one of the decent "copy" makes of guitar and bass. This specific bass is a copy of a classic vintage guitar, which i cant for the life of me remember which one. I think it was a gibson. The bass (I own a cherry marble coloured one) looks exceptional. The back of the fretboard is also decorated in the same manner. ...which sounds very vintage. On the dials on the bass' body, i would recommend keeping the tone on or close to 0 as thats where i have found the best sound, but that is just my preference. ...J Pickups. 4-String Bass. Yamaha are known for solidly built guitars products for the price and the Yamaha RBX170 Bass Guitar is no different. Feels well made. Lovely warm tone that sounds better than low-end squiers and is a class above Encore basses. Is the perfect option for beginners. I have played Fender Jazz Bass guitars since the late 60's (owned an original 60's USA Jazz back then and sooo wish I had never sold it....took a lot of gigs to pay off the hire purchase cost!). As far as basses go it is the king of sustain aided by through neck construction, making those bottom end notes shake the house.
