...J Pickups. 4-String Bass. Yamaha are known for solidly built guitars products for the price and the Yamaha RBX170 Bass Guitar is no different. Feels well made. Lovely warm tone that sounds better than low-end squiers and is a class above Encore basses. Is the perfect option for beginners. ...play as is any Japanese Fender bass i have played - i much prefer these than the US for some reason. The only thing I was slightly dissapointed with was the quality of sound from the stock pickups. Not nearly powerful enough although there was a broad tonal range. Advantages: it rocks
Disadvantages: neck to narrow

This bass rocks. The pickups have a great tone, no need to replace the originals. It has a three band EQ available, but you hardly need them. The tone is so great I hardly play with the EQ tweaked at all. I may be biased because of the flatness of the Milestone, after playing that for 3 years anything that sounds like a real bass, is a major improvement.
