The contoured hood is removable for easy filling and emptying although you can fill it with the hood on. I wouldn’t recommend emptying it with the hood in place as the water would run over the electrical end which isn’t a very good idea at all. Santa got this for my 4 year old for Christmas, and it's great. It is a mat, with a nozzle attached; this is then connected to an air pump which is rechargeable. The mat is bright and colourful. You put it in the bath; it sticks with suction cups, before filling with water.
