Advantages: Nice looking products which lure you into the shop
Disadvantages: Poor quality products with non - standard fittings, rubbish after - sales .   Essentially cheap and tacky products with high price tags, fooling you into purchasing with generous sale offers .

I bought products for two bathrooms. All was well during the purchase, however stock is not ordered in line with customer orders - it is pure pot luck - we had delays on some of the key pieces. No delivery dates could be confirmed, and had I not gone elsewhere I'd still be waiting for some of it.

Problems started in earnest when the fitting started. No cisterns, which I then had to buy from another supplier. The wrong cistern fittings. Cistern lids which didn't fit the toilet. Bath plug mechanisms which didn't work. Bath panels with the wrong fitting kits. Showers with non-standard fittings, with no converters available (my bathroom fitter improvised with a gas fitting supplied by a plumbing merchant, along with a few of his own bits and pieces). Shower heads with no bracket fittings to attach them to the tiles. Sinks with brackets too small to hold the basins on the walls. Shower cubicles which took 4 people to force them into place when they should have slotted in easily. Everything basically needed fitting twice. The installation costs trebled against the original estimate because the products are essentially poor quality and not provided with the parts needed to plumb them in properly.

There is a complete lack of after-care: a technical helpline whose purpose seems to be to state the obvious and be of no help at all, even confirming, when I double-checked, that the cistern fittings we had been supplied with were correct - only to have them leak water all over the bathroom subsequently. Bathstore's corporate structure makes the store responsible for all the problems that the rest of the company generates - yet the store appears to be completely powerless to resolve any problems. Orders are subject to a collection and delivery cycle which delays any attempt to correct the problems they have caused, and there is no-one to appeal to beyond the store manager.

I ordered in September and am still without a fully functioning bathroom at the end of December. I am now in the process of sending back half the order: I'm going elsewhere for a lot less cost and hopefully less hassle.

For all their nice shops and good-looking products, Bathstore are utterly awful beyond the point where you've parted with your cash. Don't be tempted in: do a bit of online research and get your bathroom from elsewhere.
