There’s no doubt about it, dry shampoo has become a very popular product in the past few years and due to this many brands are selling their own branded shampoo. Competition is high, as so many people are buying them, apparently boots are selling 45% more dry shampoo than they’ve ever sold. I purchased my Batiste dry shampoo for only 99p, this dry shampoo can be bought in supermarkets, boots, Superdrug and sometimes even the corner shop. Packaging There are five types of batiste dry shampoo available and each one has unique colours. I have purchased the “Original batiste dry shampoo” which includes the shade green yellow and turquoise and also the “Tropical” which is yellow and green with yellow, red and orange logo. The tropical batiste dry shampoo has a summery kind of scent, which is great to take on holiday or use in the summer time. Original batiste dry shampoo smells like really tangy sweets (I prefer the original batiste dry shampoo personally) You can buy batiste dry shampoo in 150ml and 50ml cans, 50ml cans are perfect to put in your handbag so you can use it throughout the day.
So what is dry shampoo? And what makes it so different to normal shampoo?
In the late 1960’s many women used talc on their hair, talc powder is a really easy way to remove grease or moisture from your hair this meant women could spend less time washing their hair instead they just added talc to their hair and rubbed it until you could no longer see the powder. Now there are products called dry shampoo which are talc based but have other properties they now contain refreshing and volumising agents, and work by mopping up excess grease from the roots and scalp. So fundamentally, dry shampoo the reason dry shampoo is different to normal shampoo is because you don’t use water to clean your hair you’re simply spraying the product on your hair and then rubbing it in until there’s no dry shampoo visible.
Why dry shampoo helps hair So many people use heat products: hair dryers, hair strengtheners, tongs etc after they’ve washed their hair. Heat causes damage to your hair and causes hair to split (split ends) so by using dry shampoo it means you no longer need to wash your hair every day, you can now skip a wash and therefore there’s no need to dry your hair because you haven’t washed it in water or even used other heat appliances depending on your preferences.Applying Spray the dry shampoo about 30cm from your hair then use your finger tips to massage the dry shampoo into your roots until there’s no residue left, you can use a comb instead of finger tips if you like.
In conclusion, dry shampoo can help reduce damage to hair and also it saves you a lot of time and effort getting ready.
Advantages: Refreshes hair, lasts a decent time, lovely smell, Disadvantages: Used up quickly, need to make sure its all rubbed in.
...reviews. After noticing that this Batiste dry shampoo was quite a popular product and seeing the many reviews written on it I got that fluttering in my tummy and that fidget of the fingers. I had try it! So on my lunch break last week I walked all the way up the high street (a good 20 minute walk) and spent most of my lunch on the hunt for Batiste dry shampoo. Oh the relief when I saw it glistening on the shelf! So I grabbed a can and looked after ... ...please!
** Who are Batiste **
Before seeing this on Dooyoo I had never heard of the brand Batiste. I assumed it would be a French cosmetics and beauty range. Wrong! The brand Batiste belongs to Fine Fragrances & Cosmetics LTD which is based in Sunbury on Thames. They have been operating since 1982 so they are a pretty new company. But they own a few other brands and sell the Batiste product in the UK and abroad. The company seems as though it has ...

Advantages: Leaves hair looking clean between washes. Disadvantages: The can isn't big enough!
...one I purchased is called Batiste Tropical, and it really does smell quite tropical!
It claims to "refresh and revitalise hair between washes" and I can certainly vouch for that, as I can now wash my hair every 2 or sometimes even 3 days. Although even I admit by the 3rd day it is quite in need of that wash.
I usually use this as soon as my hair starts looking greasy at the roots; I give the can a good shake and spray quite liberally towards my ... ...look when it's needing washed…well Batiste actually brightens the hair a little too…so appears to look cleaner. As I mentioned before this really does smell quite tropical, almost like a summer holiday perfume. Hard to put my finger on any one scent in particular but I think I detect a fruity, coconut smell, although it is not overpowering, but people do comment on how nice my hair smells when I'm at work. For anyone who is worried about ingredients ...

Advantages: You can go out in public with greasy hair Disadvantages: Your hair is still greasy
...with my greasy hair situation. Batiste Dry Shampoo.
This product comes in a green can similar to a can of hair spray. The design is quite simple and old-fashioned which automatically made me have doubts about buying it but it was recommended by a friend with great looking hair so I took the risk. The can I have here is 200ml (although this includes 1/3 extra free). It cost me the bargain price of £1.99 from Superdrug. It can be found on the shelf ... ...their hair properly.
Although Batiste Dry Shampoo has some bad points, it will still always be a constant feature on my dressing table. It’s an essential for bad hair day emergencies, and believe me I have plenty of those. I’d recommend it to all those greasy-haired people who are too lazy or too busy to wash their hair as often as they should. ...

Step in Batiste Dry Shampoo methinks.
I had never heard of this concept before and being a sucker for anything unusual I paid my £1.99 for the meagre 150mls spray can, and had images of me actually managing to go for more than about 15 hours without the need for another wet shampoo – so can I?

Advantages: Works very well, lovely fresh smell Disadvantages: Hard to find
I've been using Batiste Dry Shampoo since I was a teenager, and that's going back quite a few years and it's one staple in my emergency kit for 'bad hair' days. It comes in a green can, a little bit smaller than a can of hairspray and I usually buy it from my local Sainsbury's for £1.99 for a 150ml can. Occasionally, I've been able to get it on special offer on, 'buy one get one free', but as I use it fairly infrequently, I find one tin usually lasts ... ...look. Not good! Lately, Batiste has brought out a 'Tropical' range. I tried this fairly recently, but I hate the overpowering smell of coconut. It actually made me feel nauseous. My hairdresser has been looking for this for some time, so I gave it to her and she loves it - and has been recommending it to her customers, I believe!
I would definitely recommend Batiste for the odd occasion when either you can't be bothered to wash your hair and want ...

Advantages: Mops up grease, smells nice Disadvantages: Results only last a few hours
If there?s one thing that?s guaranteed to ruin my day and make me feel like staying at home it?s greasy hair, so much so that a friend recently bought me some BatisteDryShampoo, saying that I now had no reason not to go out whether I?ve washed my hair or not! It costs £2.07 for a 150ml can in Boots, which is very reasonable when compared to other dryshampoos which are available.
It comes in a bright yellow aerosol can with a green lid, giving it a tropical look to go with the scent. The product is basically a white starchy powder which you spray onto your hair. It comes out as a pretty heavy mist, but it?s easy to get an even coverage as long as you hold it about 30cm away from your hair when spraying. It has a very strong coconut scent which is nice, but can be overpowering when you first spray it.
After spraying it on you just ...
Advantages: Clean hair on the move, nice smell and good results Disadvantages: Can leave white residue on your hair if you don't brush out correctly
As I suffer from quite thin hair, it only takes a couple of hours to look dank and lifeless after washing, then it goes greasy... When I was younger, back in the early 90s I used to dab talc on my hair, and so did a lot of other girls that I knew! It was all the rage.
Nowadays, all you have to do is buy Batiste. They come in 3 "flavors" - original, tropical, and blush. Blush is the one I am reviewing, although they are all exactly the same apart from their smells. They come in 150ml bottles, which is around the same as a average deodorant bottle. However now, they have come up with handy travel size ones which are really good for fitting into going out handbags.
If you feel your hair is greasy, all you need to do is spray the Batiste onto your hair from around 30cm away, so it appears light on your hair. Then use your ...
Advantages: Absorbs grease and restores a bit of volume, smells good, time saver Disadvantages: Doesn't leave hair shiny and glossy; quite expensive
tended to put me off though is the overpowering sickly sweet scent of the range, which to me smells like a 5 year old went mad applying her Mum?s perfume and then went for a trip through Willy Wonka?s chocolate factory.
My normal choice of dryshampoo is Batiste and for years this was the only one on the market, but I was tempted to buy Lee Stafford?s offering after reading a review that said that this had a lovely subtle floral smell, more like a perfume. To me, the smell is where Batiste falls down, the normal version doesn?t smell particularly great, and the Tropical version is hugely overpowering and so distinctive that I can?t help but feel that the poor people subjected to it on the train in the morning must be thinking ?Yuck, she?s not washed her hair again this morning.? So something a bit more subtle that didn?t announce ...
