Advantages: Good comic read, great for adults and kids alike Disadvantages: NONE
...If you are a fan of Batman: The AnimatedSeries, then you'll enjoy this comic book based on that television series. Batman: Gotham Adventures is the third incarnation, after Batman Adventures and Batman and Robin Adventures, following the exploits of The Dark Knight and his companions -- Nightwing (the former Robin), Batgirl, and the new Robin (Tim Drake) -- as they defend the citizens of Gotham City from the trecharies that lie within.
Just as the animatedseries provided thought-provoking storylines, the comic book continues to deliver that same quality to its readers, never "dumbing" anything down and sacrificing the characteristics and qualities that make each player unique in his or her own way. Advantages: Never ever has there been a Batman this violent Disadvantages: It will take ages to read this all the way through.
.... Most notably the Batman Beyond animatedseries where a 80 year old Bruce Wayne is mentor to a new and younger Batman.
The Dark Knight Returns the first story of a well known hero to be released in the form of a graphic novel, there had only been a handful of such similar publications such as MAUS and Watchmen by Alan Moore, which got peoples attention. It was only when a known property such as Batman was used that the graphic novel really took off and the medium of graphic novels got noticed and I have to say got noticed for the right reasons. This book was not only original but also took something that was well known and turned it upside down, which not only re-invented the genre but also meant that longevity had been give to the subject in hand.
I hope you do read this as the artwork and the story will blow your mind, and over 20 years...

This is where the No Mans Land series, which contains five graphic novels, begins.
The first book contains two stories. The first, ‘No Law and a New Order’, begins...
