On foot you get to use EMP grenades, sentry guns, smart mines, cloaking devices and more as you jump in and out of vehicles at will. As ever the game is primarily an online affair but experience this with a full squad of allies and you’ll never want to play alone again. Most exciting moment: The best new mode of the game is called Titan where you have to destroy the opposing team’s giant flying warship by first taking down its shields and then boarding it to destroy its inner core. ...comes to a game like Battlefield 2142 it's hard not to describe the feeling you get in situations quite similar to this. The thought that you are on an enormous battlefield with real-life players slugging it out in a variety of guises is quite exhilarating. Except, on this battlefield, all sense of tactical awareness and the common sense mantra that shooting your teammates in the back isn't the best idea of the century, seems to be thrown out of ... ...but also because a future Battlefield was the only logical step forward. The World War II aspect has been done to death, Vietnam was a failure (both in real life and in video game world), and the modern aspect screamed 'war on terror'. Also, having a Battlefield set in the future allowed Dice to throw a bunch of creative ideas into the pot as they were unconstrained by the limitations of Battlefield games based on real-world events. Advantages: The combat is somewhat fun, albeit clumsy. Some of the technology is cool. Disadvantages: No real improvement, could have been an expansion, looks more like 2042, clumsy mech, etc.
So, here is the next battlefield game we have all been waiting for. And look, it's a huge disappointment.
Gameplay: Uh, 6. Kind of fun, but boring. I could just play battlefield 1942, it's not really all that different. Hard to get into the battle if you do not have a vehicle. Vehicles are somewhat clumsy, and walking around for ages can be cumbersome.
Some more things:
1. Really crappy storyline. Some random ice age, war, blah blah blah.
2. ... ...of the ones found in battlefield 1942, with some sleek designs. However, they're usually incredibly weak, for the most part. 4. Combat has not evolved much at all. It's still the EXACT same as today, with a walker that just functions as a walking tank. THERE ARE NO OTHER ELEMENTS THAT MAKE IT SEEM FUTURISTIC. "Oh, let's throw in some sleek looking BS, and say it takes place in 2142." That simply does not work.

...not familiar with this series, Battlefield 2142 is an Online 1st person multiplayer game set in the future. The objective is to work as a team to capture bases dotted around a map. Each team has a number of tickets, once you've gained enough bases your enemies tickets go down. Once your enemies tickets reach 0 you've won. You can also lessen your enemies tickets by killing their team. In this addition of battlefield however, they have included a ... ...These have been tweaked since battlefield 2, and its now much better, you used to get 3 points for a revive and only one for a heal so medics would prefer you to die so they could revive you and get 3 points. Now though you get 1 point for both healing and reviving so its in there interest to keep you alive (2 guns are better than one)
So its best to join squads(I'll get to these in a minute) and stick together. Another cool thing about this game ...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: same engine as bf2
...pretty much the same as Battlefield 2 and many other capture the flag games. The titan mode is where you have to capture missile silo's to destroy Titan shields so you can board it and destroy the control centre.
Due to the fact that it uses the same design engine as Battlefield 2 the graphics/environment is pretty much the same.
~ Why should I get it ? ~
This is a question often asked by Battlefield 2 players, with the view that it uses the same ... ...soldier better than in any Battlefield series.
I've only been playing it since Christmas day but have already noticed that the gameplay is faster, meaning more action. The fact that they have now combined two types of soldier allows a good combination of roles you can play and it can be done "on the fly".
The game has gone down in price now and I think it is well worth the price now.
