Battlefield 3 (PS3)

*Single player mode:

I'm only currently half way through the single player mode but from what ive played so far I can say that it is your advage shooter. If youve player other fps games before you'll be able to jump right into this game and get a feel for it, if you're not used to these kind of games then no worries, the easy differculty is what it says on the tin, easy...

I'm quiet keen on the graphics on this game. The landscapes look amazing and how the gameplay fits in with it rather well. I have noticed some texture glitches where the AIs just walk through walls or doors and sometimes you stuck behind and have to restart the checkpoint because of this.

One thing i really love about this game is the abilty to blow s**t up! Thanks to the frost bite engine your enviroment in the game is highly destructiveable. Soft cover doesnt last too long when your'e being fired upon which forces you to keep moving sometimes.

The sounds of the weapons are brilliant and realistic, radio chatter and voice acting really drive the games story line. I'm not to sure on the story just yet so can't make any comments on that...

* Multiplayer:

This is where the game really shines... hardcore call of duty fans might not find their place here as the battlefield is a lot more open.

You can make use of a range of vehicles from jets to tanks to jeeps and helecopters, most which you can customise by changing your loadouts to include heat seeking missles and smoke.

The frost bite engine allows you to really open up the battlefield by allowing you to blow holes in walls and cover, level buildings killing anyone inside.

You can edit your loadout at anytime durring the time you respawn and theres a number of weapons and extras to unlock.

I personally found collecting the dog tags of the other players you sneak up on and stab great fun and rewarding as you can keep track on this and even edit your own dog tags.

I love battlefield multiplayer games and think they're somewhat better than call of duty games due to the amount of things you can do in this game, however they are both in a leauge of thier own.

Overall this is a brilliant game, the multiplayer is the strongest point but the single player game is worth a look at as it is great fun and will keep you bust for a great deal of hours depending on the differculty settings.

My advice: don't knock it until you try it; you won't be disapointed.
