Advantages: Effective, long-lasting Disadvantages: can be a long process
...I bought the Braun Silk Epil X'elle 5685, as I'd just about had enough of the tedious chore of waxing, and the stubbly effects left by shaving, plus my friend had been raving about epliation ever since she bought hers last year. I'd avoided it previously as they do look like instruments of medieval torture, but I finally gave in (after being nudged by the half price sale in Boots). I purchased mine for £36.99, as oppsoed to the original tag of £69.99.
i have to say I'm happy so far. It comes with incredibly handy mutliple head for different uses, I've stuck to the beginners head for now, which has fewer tweezers and massaging rollers to ease the pain. I think after a few goes, I'll graduate to the 'expert' head, which has more tweexers and a closer epilation to make the job quicker. there's also a separate head for underams...

Advantages: It does steam well, best rice ever with a steamer too Disadvantages: Price (ouch!), and not for family of 4 or above.....
...I had wanted a new steamer for quite some time. My old one had seen better days, and it was time to get rid. When I looked in the store I found this new model and though the price is high, I put it at the back of my head as a potential winner - IF I could find it on sale!
Didn't find it on Sale, but did find it on e-bay for £30 - so bought it there! When I got it home I realised it looked bigger on my counter than when I looked at it in the store. Rather than being the traditional round or slightly oval shaped you normally get, this unit is sort of kidney shaped. (or as close to a shape I can describe.)
