Advantages: Looks good, lots of space, well fitted-out
Disadvantages: problems with refrigerant may ruin the compressor and lead to very expensive repair.

...Great looking appliance, lots of space in fridge section, and well equipped with bottle racks, etc.. Problem, however, with its compressor, which suddenly stopped working when appliance was less than two years old. Baumatic immediately sent out a new compressor ( a very expensive part, I believe) with no quibbles, but told us that we would have to pay labour costs ourselves - also that they had no engineers in our part of the country, so we would have to find one ourselves. This took a lot of 'phoning around, but we eventually got it fixed - a complicated repair, it took the engineer well over three hours' work, at a repair cost of £230 According to engineer, this is a relatively common problem in newer appliances which use eco-friendly refrigerant - which may be good for environment, but gums up the workings of the fridge! Advantages: nice looking
Disadvantages: terrible quality - lousy customer service

...I bought a Baumatic BT3500SS Range Cooker, and despite very light use, the main heating element has burned out twice in two years. The cooker is now out of warranty and Baumatic want a £75 call-out charge to replace the part. Despite explaining to them that there is obviously a defect in the cooker and that it is not fit for purpose, Baumatic don't want to know. short sighted customer service from Baumatic - the product looks very solid but obviously the components are shoddy. Despite the part itself still being under warranty, Baumatic insist that they will only replace the part if replaced by their own "qualified" engineer - hence the &75 quid callout for a part not worth £20. I wouldn't buy Baumatic again!... Read review
