Star Trek BridgeCommander is one of the first games I have ever had the privilege to play on PC. As a Star Trek fan it is only normal for excitement to appear when a new star trek game is realised but this game in my view out ranks all others. It is the sort of game that never gets old with all sorts of great aspects to it.

after watching many episodes of star trek i saw an advert fro bridgecommander, i always wanted to be on the bridge of a starship giving out the orders and thought that this was probably as real as it was going to get for the time being so i went out and bought the game.
after at least 1 hour installing on an AMD athlon xp 1800+ 256mb ram 64mb graphics (for the non computer savvy, much faster than the game requires), i decided that i would be careful not to need to re-install it as i could not listen to that infernal background music any more.
after starting my first mission i was suprised to see how detailed the graphics were and how well the ship responded to commands, i was also suprised at the fact that although the controls would keep any trekkie happy that they look straight from the show, they were amazingly intuitive ...

Star Trek BridgeCommander is original as in most star trek spin off games you can only sit out in space or above the ground and watch the action as you exert some control over the ongoing battle or whatever the game is about Bridgecommander is different in so much as you get to sit in the captains chair yea I said it the dream of many a trekkie and Star Trek actor alike.
Whilst you go through the game you can go round the bridge and interact with the bridge crew just like in a real Star Trek episode each character having different purpose and abilities for you to learn and use, each persons participation can be left automatic or can be controlled directly by the player.
