There are not a lot of life patterns you can be sure of; but when it comes to Creatives new MP3 player launch, the same old design pops its mandatory blue-print into the box of blandness. Yes, I?m talking about the so called new ordinary MX. This years silently released epic from the Creative Lab team. The difference with this model is it?s quirky pointless OCD shift that plays with the navigation direction buttons rather than any major bold steps to bridge the gap with Apple?s flying machine the iPod. Advantages: Lots of storage, Works as mass storage device, Lots of features, Plays Video Disadvantages: Requires software to upload music, Big and heavy
requires an adapter, which needs to be purchased separately. It does come with a beige suede bag to carry it around in but this case is not very good for when using the player when out and about. I need to take the player out of the bag each time I want to do something on it so it is inconvenient. Lastly, it came with a cloth the clean the player with.
VERDICT
It's a high specification player but the annoying navigation takes a lot of getting used to and I feel going for a different brand or just a different Creative model would be a better option. It's not great as a video player unless you don't mind having to convert your videos each time or only have an occasional video you want to put on the player. The screen is pretty small but that is the price to pay for having something portable that can fit in your pocket. Still okay ...

I've always been interested in these types of PMP component packages whether it's a standard screen model, or whether it is HD quality or touchscreen quality. The OLED screen definition is very good, sheer gloss and glamour which is very user friendly; it has a Nokia feel for me; not surprising really as both companies originated in the East and Chinese market before setting their sights on the Western digital market ...
