Power to the people

Advantages: Very cheap, 2 fans
Disadvantages: None

some instances the PSU may simply just pack up working altogether due to being over stressed. The Q-tec 550 watt is a very powerful yet extremely cheap PSU which is also supplied with 2 fans as standard (1 fan draws warm air from your processor whilst the other fan expels that warm air out the back of your PC which helps to keep things cool inside your case) the 2 fans provide an output of 33 decibels. The supplied cables are all of ample lengh and i had no problems whatsoever reaching them to my midi tower cased motherboard, the PSU is a gold colour and the 2 fans are coloured in rose gold and it looks quite beautiful for what it is. As i said at the beginning of this review the PSU is perhaps the singlemost important component you will ever buy for your PC so just how good is the Q-tec 550 watt? Well, in 14 months of constant ...

graphics cards and it works well. From the perspective of the power supply SLi is expensive two graphics cards need twice the amount of power and it is important that anyone wishing to upgrade their computer in the future to this standard have the right power supply. This is one of the better choices in that respect. If you look more generally at the device it can be seen that it is of a very high quality. It conforms to many important standards and is of a genuinely high quality. It comes in a little tool box and has lots of connectors. These connectors are excellent for two main reasons, the first being that they are wrapped in shielding and the second being that you can attach or remove as many as you need so there is no need to have a case filled with wires that don't go anywhere. Which means better airflow and therefore a cooler computer ...

Review of Hiper Type-R HPU-4R580 - power supply - 580 Watt

Real Power!

Advantages: Modular cables!
Disadvantages: None for me.

I had to purchase this more out of necessity than want. My old Enermax PSU decided one day that it wasn't going to turn on my PC. I then subsequently went all out and got a complete upgrade. I wanted something that would handle easily what i was going to throw at it. I also wanted a power supply that was 80 Plus compliant (80% efficient) details can be found if you look for the Coolermaster RS-620-ASAA-A1 on 80plus.org. It has one large fan which is quiet and unobtrusive, to be expected it fitted perfectly in my Coolermaster CM690 case. Being a modular PSU is an absolute godsend, why manufacturers never though of it sooner is beyond me. Modularity makes cable management and much easier and airflow much better. You get 2 sockets for graphics card power which can handle 2 x 6 pin and 1 x 8 pin plug very handy if you run an SLi rig ...
