I think that I must have missed out when this craze first hit as it is only in the past few weeks that I have become interested in these addictive little bean teddies.
It all started after a day out to the Isle of Wight, we had stopped at the sevices on the way home to get food and stretch our legs. Dillon was playing up so I decided to carry him rather than fight him into his puschair. I decided to look in the shop just to give Dillon new things to look at, there was a shelf full of beanies and I stopped to show him them. I turned away for just a second and heard him chomping on something, I looked down and saw 'cashew' sat on my arm with her ear in Dillons mouth.
I was mortified, only because the shop assistant had spotted us so I felt guilty and purchased the bear. He was £5.99 but I have since seen him elsewhere for around ten pounds.
So 'cashew' had a new home. He is a gorgeous bear that feels like shammy leather, really soft. I took him home and placed him on the shelf. luckily he had only been slimed and no real damage was done. He looked lonely so I soon felt guilty again. He now has the company of four others with many more ordered and on their way to a beanie addict.

The only negative with these is that there are so many fakes available that unless you know what you are looking for it is very easy to be duped into spending out on what you believe to be a genuine ty product. I have seen a few fakes and there are few differences, even the fakes have ty tags on them!!! There are things to look out for on the label which is attached to the bum of the beanie. It should have a metallic shiny hologram on it and on the other side a pink heart. This heart, when held in your hand for 10 seconds will disappear then reappear. The newer beanies also have a code printed on this label on the reverse, don't panic about the older ones as these do not have this code.
Beanies are suitable for any one, any age as soon as you purchase your first one there's no going back!

...acquire a collection of Ty Beanie Babies--or Ty creatures of any sort. At least, I wouldn't have done so if left to my own devices.
Mind you, I've been known to buy the occasional Beanie for one or another child in our lives. Ty toys are cute and cuddly, good companions for little ones. I've always liked the Ty variety of offerings, one that allowed me to match up Ty creatures with each child's likes and dislikes. Still, I went for years without ... ...to the latest news from Beanie Land. I was asked from time to time to look for this or that Beanie. My then-8-year-old niece could cite chapter and verse of a particular Beanie's value. The extended family, reaching across the continent, was mobilized for the acquisition of McDonalds' Teeny Beanies. My sister and her family attended Ty conventions where vendors and collectors bought, sold, and traded Beanies on a massive scale. As a result of these ...

...beanies, I collect the TY beanie baby bears, and if you have ever seen them for sale in the shops, you will know what I mean when I say "Ridiculous prices". Something which started off being toys for kids has now become a massive money making scheme for many adults, preying on those of us who just have to have that one for our collection.

The older tush tags were just plain with the bears name on it, the more recent ones have holograms on them to reduce the number of counterfeits that are currently flooding the market. The latest hologram is heat sensitive.
The hang tags are different for each generation, some have small stars in the corner, with ...

Advantages: Cute and Cuddly, Can increase in Value Disadvantages: Gets Addictive, you just have to buy them
I love Ty Beanies. They are small cuddly toys, filled with beans and come in a variety of different shapes. Each one, apart from a few, has a date of birth and a short poem in its hang tag, or swing tag, they also all have a name.
They were first made as toys, but have now become collectable thanks to Mr Ty Warners’ idea to make each “model” for only a set length of time and then “retire” them and bring out some more.
... ...a year and as there are always new ones coming out, I am sure that I will collect even more over the years to come.
The beanies come in a variety of animals, the most well known being the bears, but also birds, cats, dogs, wild animals, fish, and farm animals.
My newest beanies are “Mrs.” The Bride Bear, “Mr.” The Groom Bear, “Dizzy” the Dalmatian, “Midnight” the Black Panther and “Frills” ...

Advantages: Beanie babies are affordable, small, understuffed, bean filled toys that are enjoyed by children and adults as a toy and/or collectible, that can bring great pleasure to the receiver. Disadvantages: Collecting can become addicting, but is that really so bad?
...some research about these Ty Beanie Babies on the internet and discovered a bear named 'Peace.' I was HOOKED. In addition to the ones I have on display, I now have several rubbermaid plastic storage boxes filled with these cute little critters. Advantages: Affordable, cute, collectible Disadvantages: You will have to eat lots of Happy Meals to collect them all
Teenie BeaniesBabies are miniture versions of popular BeanieBabies which are produced as Happy Meal toys for McDonalds. Every year the collections get bigger and better. Teenie BeanieBabies have many advantages, including easy storage due to their small size and affordability. Not only can you buy versions of some of the most popular common beaniebabies, but McDonalds has also made available tiny versions of some of the most expensive and elusive beaniebabies such as Humphrey, Royal Blue Peanut, Chilly, Steg, Rex, and Bronty. And if you can't afford to add the country exclusive BeanieBabies to your collection, you can add Britannia, Maple and the other teenie versions of country exclusives to your collection for an affordable prize. Most people cannot afford a complete collection of BeanieBabies or Beanie Buddies, but Teenie ...
Advantages: Great way to introduce a hobby to children. Disadvantages: Some set were not avalible in the UK!
BeanieBabies, love them or loathe them, I doubt many can have failed to notice their popularity. They will probably go as a phenomenon of the late twentieth century.
The miniature ‘Teenie BeanieBabies’ were first produced for McDonald’s children’s promotions but now even TY has cashed in on this miniature gold mine range with small beanies on a little bit of gold cord that attaches to your Christmas tree. The Jingles Collection was born! In the shops there are nine ‘Teenie BeanieBabies’: Twigs, Peace, Holiday 1998, Holiday 1999, Halo, LoOsey, Quackers, Holiday 1997 and Rover. There are the Happy Holidays, the four Clubby Bears Collection too (around £25.00).

Advantages: cute, cheap, easily available with some hunting Disadvantages: not as well made as the bigger products, tags easily damaged
I think most people know what TY beaniebabies are, but the Teenies aren’t so well known. These are small versions of the beanies and were available as promotions at McDonald’s from 1997 until 2000. Australia is the only country with a 2001 promotion.
Each year’s promotion saw a variety of Teenies being sold. Most of these can still be bought from the internet (try the auction sites or the list BritBeanz@yahoogroups.com) for anything from 50p to a couple of pounds.
The Teenies from 1997 are, not surprisingly, the hardest to find and the most expensive. As you would expect, a complete set is worth more, especially if all the Teenies are MIP (Mint In Packet) – this means they are in perfect condition and still in their original sealed packaging.
Individual Teenies from 1998, 1999 and 2000 are usually ...
