Hello, it is I, Travis, back again for my second opinion on Ciao. Last time I wrote I did about the bear in the big blue houses dancing Toy. Now I am writing about the thing that started Bear off, the immortal show, Bear in the Big Blue House.

I first started to watch Bear when mummy changed over from Sky Digital to NTL. The nasty people at Sky charged us extra for the Disney channel so mummy didn’t pay it. Now that we have changed, Daddy gets the Movie Channels so we get it as an extra! YAY!

Matty says that it is made by some one called Jim Henson (He made a show called ‘The Muppets’. Was it about Matty?). He is meant to be famous for animal puppets. As long as he keeps bear, I don’t care about the others.

I watch Bear at 9:30am, Noon and 5:30pm on Disney Channel but I also have the option to watch it on Channel 5 8am weekdays. I don’t because Channel 5 is naughty.

For those of you who don’t know about the Bear and his house, which is, of course, blue, I will give you the basics.

Bear has a Blue house, which he lives in. Everyone knows that. He also lives there with his Friends, Tutter, Treelo, Ojo, Pip and Pop. He also has occasional visits from others like Luna and Shadow.

Each 20-minute show has a basic theme like going to the toilet or travelling and each of his friends has a problem, which is something to do with that (coincidence how it all happens on the same day to them.).

I will give you little run through of a Bear show.

Starts with the theme tune with Bear and his friends dancing and singing. Then Bear welcomes you at his door and starts sniffing at the screen. ‘What’s that smell’ he asks then continues to sniff. He then realises that it is me! Yes, I always smell nice and even bear can notice it through the TV.

He then goes and does something and, afterwards he goes and sees one of his friends. My favourite of His Friends is Tutter, the little blue mouse. If you read on, you will see little profiles about Bears mates:

Tutter

Tutter is my favourite character on the show. He lives in bear’s kitchen (a hole in a cabinet). He is determined to do any task he is given and he loves cheese almost as much as he does bear.

Ojo

Ojo is the most boring of the group and I don’t like her that much. She loves to play games of pretend and her favourite thing in the world is her best friend, Snow bear (a stuffed teddy. Can’t she get any real friends?)

Pip & Pop

Pip and his brother Pop don’t actually live in Bears house, they live in a pond just outside of it, though they are very rarely seen outside bears house. They are never seen without one and other but they don’t always agree (just like me and my brothers!).

Treelo

He also lives out side the big blue house, in a tree just next to a window of the house, which he climbs in through. He is the least seen out of Bears close friends and only gets brought in about 3 times an episode. He is still very funny and I like him.

Now for the once an episode friends who don’t actually live in the house

Luna

Luna is the moon and also Bears oldest friend whom he speaks to about the day’s events at the end of every show. Then they sing the ‘Goodbye Song’ together and Luna rises above the trees and houses to go around the earth.

Shadow

Possibly the worst character on the show. She tells little story songs, which bores everyone to death. She prances around on the walls (she is a shadow after all) and then disappears.

He solves the problems then, after a hard day, goes and tells his friend Luna (mentioned above) about the day. They sing the Goodbye song and then, before the show ends, Bear gives you a piece of advice. Something like ‘Wash Behind your ears’ (if the show has been about washing) etc.

There are also lots of Bear toys out and, if you go to the Disney Store there are loads of Bear Teddy’s (which cost a load!).

Bear is one my favourite shows at the moment so go and watch it!
