A LADY'S HELPER
Review of Beautiko Electrolysis PEN by  thingywhatsit

Advantages: Helps to stop hair growth.
Disadvantages: Needs patience and constant treatment.

...The buying decision. I was skeptical to say the least as to whether a machine of this nature works. I had heard the expression "electrolysis", and knew that beauty parlours practice successfully the art of hair removal by this process. However, if machines were made that were effective, how come so many were on sale at such low prices (less than a tenner) on Ebay ? This raised questions in my mind, although I decided that the problem that I have was important enough to risk the small amount involved. There were several makes available. I didn't like the look of the "One Touch" make, because quite frankly it looked flimsy and unprofessional. The Beautiko product was well packaged, looked professional, seemed to have the best set of instructions, and I liked the portability of the machine, packed in a neat zipped wash bag, giving a choice... Laser hair removal vs Electrolysis
Review of Rio Scanning Laser by  Cheree

Advantages: Is quite gentle and doesnt hurt
Disadvantages: Takes a long time

...I bought this system around four months ago and, after using it religously (i.e approx 2 to 3 times per week) I am now starting to see results. I am fair skinned and bought the laser kit to target the dark hair on my upper lip. I used the highest setting and found it to be really gentle and no blistering or anything like that, however you must be careful not to overdo it or yes you will be burned. Follow the instructions carefully but, as has been said on several other reviews now, it takes a long time so you need to be committed to it. I also think its effectivenss varies from person to person depending on skin type so if you olive or dark skin or want to treat light hairs then it may not be the product for you. I have also in the past had electrolysis treatments and wish I had of tried this product first (electrolysis can... Read review

smooth smooth smooth - er, no
Review of Feminique - Sonic Hair Remover by  fabolous

Advantages: erm..............
Disadvantages: lengthy, painless-yeah right, awkward to use

...love the silky smooth feeling you get those first 5 mins after, before it goes all stubble-ish. As for creams, well I tried a leading brand, and it burned, it smelled, and I nearly cried at my lobster-esque legs. I always thought as soon as I stop blowing my wages and the other meagre amount I receive per week on sales sales and alcohol, I would save up and have electrolysis on my forearms underarms, bikini line, and legs. Yeah, so it's expensive but I guess it would be worth it. Then I was browsing through the catalogues as you do (who can resist??) and I noticed Feminique. I mentioned it to my mother as something I intended on buying when I saved and stopped spending. At £20 it seemed a bargain for a painless and effective hair removal system, as it so clearly said on the box. Well, what I received was basically a more expensive... Read review
