Yuck, it's hayfever season again and the familiar sneezing and scratchy throat made its first appearance for me this year recently. Whenever this happens I turn to my trusty bottle of Beconase... more

Advantages Advantages provides relief for me for nasal symptoms mainly, quick to work

Disadvantages Disadvantages can leave a nasty taste in the mouth, tricky to administer at first.

My Experiences with Hayfever Hayfever is one of them unfortunate illnesses that if you don't suffer from, you don't understand how much it affects the life of someone who has it, and if you do have it, it can make you miserable for a good part of the year when you should be out and enjoying yourself. You find yourself turning down invitations to go to barbecues or outdoor events, and when the kids want to play out, you are left an absolute wreck if you choose to join them. Not to mention how irritable you become because you are sore and constantly tired because you can't even sleep well. I led ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap, Economical, Effective

Disadvantages Disadvantages takes 2-3 days to work

Sneezing, blocked nose, unable to breathe, itchy eyes, runny nose yes it’s the hayfever season again and yet again I was suffering. This happens every year and every year I get a little bit worse and feel more unwell with it. However I now have the power over my hayfever and this is due to Beconase Nasal Spray. First let me give you a little low down on exactly what hayfever is and how it occurs. The Pharmweb (www.pharmweb.net) informs me that hayfever occurs when your body over reacts to the pollen released by plants and flowers. This pollen causes your body to release Histamine and it is ... more

Advantages Advantages Stops Hayfever and other allergies and is quite cheap.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Leaflet takes a while to read.

I was beginning to feel really rough as I couldn’t stop sneezing all the time and it felt like I had a constant cold and it got really bad whenever I went outside the house. It was only when my friend’s mum suggested I might have hay fever that I decided to do something about it, so off I trundled to Boots to find a remedy to stop the sneezing and my runny nose. The Purchase I went in and was attracted to a big display, which said “ 3 for 2 on Hay fever medicines”. They had a range of about six or so and the four, which caught my eye. Clarityn Allergy tablets, Benodryl allergy tablets ... more

Advantages Advantages It stops your nose from tickling and running

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unpleasant feeling squirting it up your nose

As a child I often wondered why I had hayfever all year round when everyone else only suffered in May and June. Not until I was over 20 did a doctor mention 'rhinitis' to me, which is the irritation of the lining of the nose (that horrible tickly feeling). This can be caused by hayfever, but is just as often caused by other allergies, such as to animals, perfume and dust mite. The reason I entitled this opinion 'are you allergic to your bed buddies?' is because house dust mite particularly love feeding off the dead skin cells you shed whilst sleeping. I have seen horrible photos of a bedsheet ... more

Advantages Advantages it does the trick

Disadvantages Disadvantages well you have to pay for it,otherwise none

I was quite surprised when my doctor diagnosed me with hayfever a few years ago. I always thought that it was something you were born with, silly me. The first remedies I tried were Clarityn Allergy tablets (which were absolutely fantastic but expensive) and Rhinolast Nasal spray which was equally good but I found I always had a bitter aftertaste after using it. Then a couple of years ago my partner came home with Beconase as the chemist we use had run out of both of the previously mentioned remedies. After much foot stamping and a chorus of "It’s not fair!"I had to give it a go, as I had ... more
