TIGI Bed Head BH for men Clean Up Peppermint Condtioner

I used Tigi Peppermint conditioner a while ago. I wasn`t impressed with it then or now!

They are predominately hair products, shampoos for all different types of hair, conditioners rinse out and leave in, along with various styling products. I think they also sell make up. The hair products are generally only available at selected salons, though they can also be bought on line. A few months ago, I decided that my hair was in quite poor condition, this I put down to too many highlights. I decided to treat my hair, initially I bought a small shampoo and conditioner from my hairdresser by Tigi. I then searched on line and bought a selection box of Tigi hair products, much cheaper this way. The peppermint conditioner on its own is quite expensive, around £13 for 250ml. I got the selection much cheaper, but may not necessarily have chosen peppermint. I was really guided by the name, from what I was aware, Tigi had a good reputation. Not only do hairdressers use, and sell their products, so they must be good, they also are a reputable salon within their own rights. My hairdresser recommended the name, but was unable to offer an alternative as they only used TIgi.

What is Peppermint Conditioner?

The peppermint conditioner is made by Tigi, though I have used peppermint conditioner by other brands a long time ago. This is a peppermint treatment conditioner. It is a scalp treatment with a PH of 5.5. It provides a cooling effect and refreshing, natural massage. Apparently the hair is stimulated and enriched by the increase of oxygen flow through to the hair follicles. It recommends that you massage gently into wet hair and leave it for 3-5 minutes to experience the uniquie, tinling sensation that refreshes and invigorates hair and scalp.

Using the Conditioner.

The conditioner had a very distictive smell of mint and was white in colour. It was easy to hold and put the required amount into the hand. It was easy to rub into the hair, I had no problems distributing it easily throughout my entire scalp and hair. Pretty soon after application, it feels very tingly and cold. Refreshing alright, but not so much at this time of year when it is cold and wet. I enjoyed the sensation of tingling on the scalp, I could imagine it working well on the hair. What I was not as keen on was the cold feeling running down my back. I always apply conditioner liberally so it is unavoidable to get some down your back. However, I am a bit more frugal with it now, to try to avoid this problem! It rinses quite well, but does need to be rinsed thoroughly (as with most conditioners).

Do I recommend?

In a word no. I didn`t like it. When I started using it a few moths ago, I wasn`t really keen on the sensation, but I had bought it, I would use it! Back then, my hair was really difficult ot comb after washing it. It was necessary for a while to spray an additional leave in conditioner in to my hair, just to get the comb through it. Anyway, this went on for a few months, I was getting a bit fed up. At this time I was also using Tigi shampoo. My hair eventually got better, I no longer needed additional conditioner. I had stopped using Tigi by now and just used a normal conditioner from the super market. Recently I ran out of conditioner. I dug out a Tigi peppermint conditioner and used this with my normal, supermarket shampoo. I washed my hair, twice, it felt quite nice. After condtioning with the TIgi peppermint conditioner, I was shocked to find that my hair felt matted. I am now back to using spray in conditioner to get the comb through. I did not wat to be at this stage again and it coincides exactly to when I started using it again. As soon as I have time to buy some conditioner from the supermarket, I will and I will bin this.

From a personal experience, I would not recommend Tigi hair products. I have got on better with other Tigi shampoos and conditioners, but in my opinion, they are not worth the money. I have got a similar, if not better result, from shampoos and conditioners available from the supermarket. The Tigi peppermint conditioner was one that I certainly diid not get on with. Maybe it just does not suit my hair. There is nothing on the bottle to indicate use with a paticular hair type. The cold sensation was a little bit more pleasurable in summer. Either way I am not keen on the sensation. I would prefer to pay less and acheive better results for healthier hair.
