Tigi is a very trendy and contemporary hair care brand that aims its products at those who have a sense of humour and like to live on the spicy side of life. They market and supply their products to the top hairdressers and stylists and aim to offer it to us mere mortals so we can all style our hair the way the celebs do, if you're that way inclined of course. But if you take Tigi down a peg or do, they are just a fun company that sell interesting hair care products with a slightly over the top price-tag. Now Tigi claims that this product will not only 'go to your head' (here is hoping!) but it should be a superfine, super-shine light weight spray that gives your hair extreme gloss with all over coverage. Well it sounds interesting, maybe not something I needed at the time, but something I thought I would like to try, so I did!
** Did it 'go to my head'? **
Well, the instructions say to spray on dry hair. That's it. Simple as pie. So I did! I pulled off the cap very easily and sprayed a good few inches away from my hair. The spray comes out quite fast so make sure you leave plenty of space between the can and your hair. But it does come out very light and it gently settles on the hair. You don't need much spray so don't get carried away, and just because you can't see the product on my hair doesn't mean that it isn't there! I went into the light and I could see that my hair did have a little added shine. But it also had a little added limpness! My hair is fine, flat and prone to grease at the best of times so if I'm honest I knew this wouldn't be great for hair type but I was willing to give it a go. The effects were not drastic and if I just bought this for the shine effect then I would blow raspberries at it. It shines, but at a cost. Rubbish! What's the point I having shiny hair for 10 seconds then it turning into a limp piece of lettuce? Well, it's a good thing it has a couple more benefits then just its shine effect! As I said before I have fine hair and especially after washing and drying it becomes quite flyaway. If I spray a little of this over the hair (and I mean a very quick spray) and it calms down the bit of static I tend to get and it tames my flyaway hair. I have to add this is in no way, shape or form any sort of hairspray. It purely just adds a bit of liquid which controls the slight fight my hair plays against gravity. It also brings out the red in my hair. (My hair is naturally auburn, red, blonde colour, very hard to explain!) But the added shine this gives to my hair really brings out the variety of natural colour I have. But to be honest the ONLY reason I have continued to use this is because of the beautiful, seducing, mouth watering (you get the picture?)... The stunning fragrance.
** Fragrance **
Well, this has to be one of my favourite smells in the cosmetic world. It is very sweet so I am not suggesting it is one for everyone. It is fruity, has a good scent of mango in it and has a distinct citrus smell of lemon. If you smell it too much it becomes quite sickly! This is why I think the product is great, because when you're out and about, whether on holiday, at a party, after the gym or a long day at work, just spray a light amount over your hair and it instantly adds a refreshing smell boost. Brilliant if you in a position where you're worried that your hair might not smell its best but you know you might be within a close proximity of other people. I also find it adds a little something extra when I am going out or for a special night as the scent really has an effect. People have commented on what shampoo I have used, but its not he shampoo, it's this spray! It is definitely a brilliant hair refresher. The scent does not last for long, maybe an hour or two at the most, but as I said, spray lightly and you will be able to use this throughout the day.
** Price & Packaging **
As I said before the pretty outrageous packaging was what attracted me to this in the first place. Forget what it is for, it looked tantalising! A bright fuchsia pink metallic can and a lime green cap. With jagged black writing on the front it definitely stands out among my usual bland lotions and potions. With large dents at the top of the can for grip, it has a funky, modern edge and I really like it. I got my can of Headrush from my hairdressers, but you can buy it online from many different beauty websites and I know a lot of the high street hairdressers are stocking Tigi products now so you should find it somewhere. If you need some extra guidance you can have a look at the Tigi website which is www.tigi.co.uk I paid £12 for my bottle and the prices vary greatly depending on where you're buying it from. Yes I do thing the price is ridiculous but if you use it wisely not only will it last longer but it also works more effectively and doesn't make your hair so limp and greasy. I use my bottle a few times a week and after around 5 months I still have half a can left. Not bad! But if you have thicker hair you might be able to get away with using the product more liberally, which will of course reduce the amount of usage you get.
** Conclusion **
A little goes a long way, that's the moral of this review. If you spray this over your hair like hairspray or body spray then you will end up with a mop of wilting and lifeless hair. Spray a little and your hair will shine. I think the best benefit is the scent and that is the only reason I use this now. But it is a shame really because paying £12 for a hair perfume was never my intention. But I will use my can until it runs out and then find something else that catches my eye. If you have the spare cash then give it a go and try something new, but if you're just looking for something to give your hair a little life and shine, skip this overpriced version and experiment with a cheaper one
Advantages: Cool Packaging and smells devine! Disadvantages: Price
Presents from my in laws seem to be like a good cheese!! Get better with age!!! Past experiences have always made me a bit apprehensive about opening presents from the in laws but each Christmas and birthday things just get better!! I am sure it?s all about having my sister in-law on side and dropping big hints to her!!
For Christmas 2003 I received several items from the TigiBedHead range. Fantastic news I thought as well as a huge sigh of relief as I opened my parcel! I?d not tried any of their products before and they all looked so exciting with fancy names and nice packaging!
Today I will be reviewing TigiBedHeadHeadrush which is a shine spray.
I had previously seen shine sprays in Boots and never thought much of them to be honest. I always thought that they were not suitable for my blonde hair. For some strange ...
Advantages: Gorgeous fine mist of shine Disadvantages: Perhaps the price for somepeople
I am a self confessed product junkie, however I tend to buy products that will improve my skin or my hair, I don?t tend to buy products designed to make it look better. I usually wouldn?t buy a styling product that costs around £12.
Last Christmas my mum brought me some Tigi hair styling products and one of them was TigiBedHeadHeadrush Shine Adrenaline. When I saw the bright pink trendy can I thought straight away it looked cool but wasn?t sure it would be that good-anyway I decided to use it.
I washed my hair as usual and blow-dried and straightened it then I sprayed it on being very careful not to use to much because a lot of shine sprays can leave your hair greasy, the first thing I noticed was the lovely smell, Tigi sure know how to make their products smell fantastic. I ran my fingers through my hair and though wow it feels so ...
Advantages: Smells lovely Disadvantages: Left my hair greasy, the price
good feature about this product. It is a bright bright pink metal bottle, with a lime green lid made of plastic on the top. It has the BedHead range logo in large letters across the middle of the bottle, with the product name Headrush underneath this. There are a few directions on the back, but because it is a salon product, they must presume people would know how to use it as there aren't any details on the product really! But saying that, it is a spray so it is pretty easy to work out what to do with it. Just spray it onto your dry hair and let it do its thing. Also, it is not just a hairspray, it is a superfine mist so it will sit nicely on your hair, which I guess is what allows it to make your hair shine so nicely.
Well, I did exactly as I was directed to do on the bottle. I washed and blow dried my hair, and went into my bathroom to ...
