Advantages Mememorable story, easy to empathise with the main character, engrossing and thrilling plot.

Disadvantages A little confusing to follow.

I bought this book on a whim as this isn't the sort of genre i would usually read but the plot of the story sounded intriguing and the ideas behind it were fascinating.

Everyday the main character Christine wakes up and cannot remember what has happened in her life. She is told by a man who she believes to be her husband that she is suffering from amnesia from a mysterious accident many years before. We are introduced to another character in Dr Nash who is trying to aid in the restoration of Christine's memory. Along with Christine's husband Ben, Dr Nash provides a suspicious element to the story as both characters appear to be keeping things from Christine.

Most of the book is told in a diary format as Christine has been writing in a journal about her life in an effort to stimulate her memory. This technique works well as it makes you empathise with Christine as she doesn't know what is going on and neither do you. You feel as though you are living her life with her as she tries to work out what has been going on. As the novel progresses and Christine is able to recollect some memories, it becomes very hard to put the book down.

Although the story appears that it is never going to reach a conclusion, fear not, as the end is quite gratifying as elements throughout the novel come together- which whilst satisfying to uncover isn't quite what I expected.

Overall I found the novel riveting as you go through the journey with Christine and truly feel as though you are trying to unravel the mystery of her life with her.
