This is the ultimate digital delay effects pedal, truly comparable to state-of-the-art studio processors. It features ultra-high 24-bit / 24 khz-resolution stereo delays / echoes with delay times of up to 1.3 seconds.
Advantages: excellent effect range Disadvantages: expensive new/you will need a power supply
...I had been searching for the right delay pedal for a few years and i had read a lot of good press about the Boss DD5. My Friend had an earlier version (DD2 or 3) and as i liked the range of effects on that peddle i took a gamble and purchased a DD5.
I managed to purchase a second hand DD5 (this cost me £95). I believe that new they are around £150 mark, so they aint cheap that's for sure.
The good news is that it is an absolute beauty.
Firstly, the sheer amount of variations of delay is incredible. From straight forward delay variations to backwards loops to an ability to press and hold the footpedal and record a phrase which is then repeated for`ever whilst you play something neat over the top of it.
You can achieve the most amazing effects simply by tweeking the various dials a few degrees here and there.
The quality of the actual...

Advantages: Cheap, Professional, Easy to use Disadvantages: None
...of the art 24-bit effects processor with delay, reverb, flanger etc; and 38 various different outputs.
Behringer have ensured that this mixer is simple and ready to use straight out of the box. Literally simply plug and play. The Xenyx also comes with USB functions, allowing you to record to your PC with much greater ease.
And if this model is too big or has too many inputs for you - Behringer have designed different Xenyx models with 5, 10, 12, 16, 18 or 22 inputs; all of which are lower priced. This is a great product for professional recording quality on a budget. Definitely consider buying this product to improve your sound - and make sure you avoid the big boys Korg etc that will make you pay thousands....

Advantages: Price, Performance, Finish, Stupendous Value Disadvantages: Not an SM58, maybe a bit “bright” for some
...exactly what provision is made for this on the SM58, but looking at them when taken apart they look quite similar so there is some form of breath filter on the SM58 also.
In practice, in a live band situation where two people use SM58’s and two use the Behringer (which is actually probably bad practice), I think that this is proven to be true.
Invariably, I have problems getting the main vocalist’s mic’s loud enough in the mix, while the Behringer users are screaming loud on similar settings. Obviously, a lot depends on the individual vocalist, but from a practical point of view when you know that the Shure’s are £85 - £100 approx. a time and I got the Behringers for £38 for TWO – you’ve got to wonder why the Shure’s keep selling well.
Maybe the “flat” sound is desirable for very high...
