professional signal processor with tube technology. The Behringer T1952 TUBE COMPOSER offers various dynamic processing functions: fully automatic as well as manual compression, expander/gate, and program limiting. It combines the advantages of hard-knee and soft-knee compression in a single processing function. The result is entirely natural and transparent, even in the case of extreme compression ratios. It also incorporates a warmth control, automatic or manually controllable attack and release times, switchable high-pass filter and monitor function for side chain, a peak-limiting circuit that combines clipper and program limiter, expander/gate circuit for gentle disturbance suppression, and displays for input and output levels and gain reduction. The T1952 also features a switchable stereo link mode and can be set to +4 dBu or -10 dBV. Servo-balanced inputs and outputs with XLR and 1/4 inch TRS
Mixing the much sought after analogue sound technology with state of the art studio technology, the t1952 is a sweet sounding and impressive studio tool with five dynamic processing functions - compressor, limiter, gate expander and peak limiter.
Advantages: Price, Performance, Finish, Stupendous Value Disadvantages: Not an SM58, maybe a bit “bright” for some
...Personally, I find that most of the time there isn’t a great deal to say about microphones, however I thought it was worth reviewing these Behringers.
The so called industry standard seems to be the SHURE SM58 and as I use both types, I’ll do a bit of comparison between the two.
The Behringer model looks very similar in size/shape/weight but is finished in darker shades of grey, and looks/feels physically to be every bit as well made and rugged as the Shure, and both use the standard balanced XLR connector, and both are omni-directional – meaning they only pick up what you point ‘em at !
From the blurb on the box, the Behringer apparently has the same dynamic frequency response as the SM58, from 50hz – 15Khz. The Behringer also has a breath and pop filter to minimize unwanted sounds.
I am not sure...

Advantages: Cheap, Professional, Easy to use Disadvantages: None
...Behringer has gained a deserved reputation amongst musicians on a budget for its ability to produce high-quality, low-price equipment that will rival the quality of the likes of brands such as Korg, whilst still letting you keep a roof over your head. The Xenyx 2442FX proves just that. At around £199.99 RRP, the model retails at half the price of it competitors. Yet it pains me that people still buy from companies such as Korg, Boss, and Casio - all that they are doing is buying the brand name. Behringer know that musicians often aren't made of money, which i find refreshing, and means that Behringer are amongst the brands i can trust.
What Does the Xenyx 2442FX Do?
The Xenyx is a 24-Input powered mixer that has 10 Phantom Power Microphone Preamps; several channel inputs for 1/4 inch jacks or phantom inputs; a state...

Advantages: 4 channels of compression in 1 rack space, low noise, good metering. Disadvantages: Lacks custom attack/release time controls
...I purchased this unit as I needed 4 channels of compression/gating but didn't have the rack space for a couple of 2 channel units. The MDX4600 has a lot of features such as de-esser, enhancer, noise gate, channel coupling, but lacks things like custom attack and release timings for the compressors, found on the MDX 2600 for example.
The dials on the front of the unit feel solid to use and notch in to place nicely for accurate control.
The unit is more or less noise free too, which is means Behringer have used good components inside. A lot of their rack gear is highly rated, especially their compressors, and used by professional musicians all over the world.
A good unit for the price, good features and only takes up one rack space. Recommended purchase for a gigging band!
Mine was purchased from Dolphin Music, for £80.99, via e...
