Advantages: Excitement, Number of Events Disadvantages: Blisters, Controller Damage
Even though I am a big fan of the Olympics I didn't really want to buy this game. That is until I played it at a friends house. Even then I still didn't really want to buy it, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to get it. So I did.
The career mode is quite fun to play through. Each day you have around 6 events to compete in, some are medal events and some are qualifiers. On each day you have to reach the medal target ... ...the next day.
The is a great variety of events to play. From the tracks events such as the 100m to the 1500 to competing in the hurdles.
There is also a great selection of field events such as the hammer throw, discus and the jumping events (High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault)
There is also the swimming events, cycling, canoeing, diving, 3 different types of shooting and archery.

One of my favourite things was competing online. this gives you a chance to test yourself against the best players from around the world. I prefer competing in races online, because when doing field events you have to watch the other people complete their throws which can take a while if there is the maximum numbre of players playing.
Some people would say a down point to this game is you often get blisters. This is down to the fact that aswell as still being able to button bash you can now 'waggle' the analogue stick aswell. This is more effective than the traditional button bashing. At first I thought I might break my controller, but they're still intact.
Competing in the evnts is actually very tiring on the arm, especially the cycling. At some points my arm was on the verge of going into cramp. But don't let that deter you.
The graphics in the game are decent, nothing special, but that's not really what the game is about.
One final thing. Both my controllers left analogue sticks now squeak and stick. I'm not sure if this is entirely this games fault, but I reckon it has played an important role in it.
Advantages: Great Gameplay Disadvantages: Tires You Out
This game brings the essence of the 2008 Olympics to your fingertips. With a large range of different sports that are available, it gives you a wide range of different things for you to try. These 38 events are spread around 10 different sports which are track, cycling, gymnastics etc. A large amount of people are able to play at once online and offline. 1-4 players can play on one system and then you can play with up to 8 other people online so ... ...There are such games that you can play which can feature male or female. You can play kayaking, judo, 1500m and 110m hurdles. There are also online leader boards so you can compare your best time and distances with other people around the world.
The career mode adds a new dimension to how you play the game because you have to build up your countries team, so that they can be the best. You are made to go through all of the different steps so you ...
