Firing the drum around at 1000 rpm, the Beko WMA 510 has never let me down over the 2 years it has sat in my kitchen steadily working its way through the huge amounts of washing we produce on a weekly basis. First bought for £199.99 from Comet it is now much cheaper on their website at £169.99 and based on both prices it is affordable for most and well worth the price due to how easy it is to use, the wide range of wash settings and large drum.
Fitting was simple as the weight in the bottom isn't that heavy so I was able to position it under our work surfaces easily on my own and connecting the pipes was straightforward. After doing this it was just a case of plowing through the rather thick yet comprehensive instruction manual to master the art of turning grubby collared shirts into fresh and clean items ready for ironing.
The controls are put into simpleton terms to avoid confusion so apart from the standard pre-wash, rinse and extra rinse buttons on the front you have the on and off switch, programme settings and the tray where you insert the washing powder and fabric softener. The powder tray does become a little gunky over time but it can be flushed out with water without too much trouble.
With different settings for cottons, synthetics, wool and delicates ranging from 30 to 90 degrees the washing machine has the ability to wash everything in my wardrobe taking away the need to hand wash a number of shirts I own. As far as results are concerned I am delighted by the fact that from day one to present day every load of washing comes out clean and smelling fresh.
Most washing machines are known as the wife pleasers in my circle of friends because the vibrations their washing machines produce. One friend who has a very expensive machine sits on his sofa and can feel the vibrations when on a spin cycle run through the floor in his kitchen and up his legs. Not a problem I experience as movement in the machine is only very slight and only noticeable when you put your hand onto it and the same can be said of the amount of noise produced. Unless you are stood next to it you just wouldn't know it was on.
I would recommend the Beko WMA 510 for its wash results, affordable price, low noise levels and range of programme settings. After 2 years it is going strong and we haven't needed to call out an engineer to fix any problems making it a hassle free washing machine.
