We have had the Beko washing machine for a good few years now and its been around so long that I am not even sure I can remember exactly how long that is. At least 3 years maybe more. It hasn't been without it's problems but I'll come to that issue later.
Lets start with the design of the machine...
Our's is white and lets be honest, does the colour really matter, I think a silver one was on offer when we ordered ours from one of the generic barn stores you can find in every concrete retail park. If I remember rightly it was another 20 of your English pounds so we went for the white one. It's still white now after several years of use and having food dribbled down it from the kitchen top, wiped clean everytime and no discolouration so far. The machine is a simple design, none of this Dysonesk funky plastics or the slightly weirdness of the Moon machine, whoever makes that. A simple draw which feels a little flimsy but does its job well enough, we use liquid in one of them ball thingies so we don't use it much anyhow. A single clicky twisty dial pushes in and out to keep the frontage smooth when the machine is not in use along with a selection of big push buttons for various functions. That covers the control panel, the lower part of the machine is plain fronted with the usual side opening door, opens with the hinge on the left side if that helps. The door is fairly robust although if someone leans on it you can see the hidge area flex alarmingly but then I guess you shouldn't lean on the door! In terms of being robust, our machine has moved from a 3rd floor apartment to our old house and again to the new house. In all this moving about the only issue has been a bent door hinge but that hasn't stopped it working.
We did have an issue about a year back with the clicking programme dial wizzing past the drain stage so a bleary eyed me would open the door in the mornin and flood the kitchen, not good! A half hour with a screw driver and a bit of prodding realigned the ratchet mechanism and its been fine since, not a penny spent.
Programme wise, I'm no washing machine expert but it has the usual and a couple of handy short cycles and the ever important ECO cycles. An average sized drum holds a good load for the 2 of us, those with kids might find it a bit restrictive.
All in all, if your looking for a cheap, reliable, simple but effective washer for a small household, you can't seem to go wrong with the Beko.
