When I moved into my first flat three and half years ago I was on a tight budget and a top of the range washing machine was not one of my priorities. Browsing through Comet I came across this Beko washer and the price was all that mattered to me. Having heard about all the problems washing machines seem to cause when breaking down I knew it was just a matter of hoping for the best and boy have I been rewarded!
Firstly I will say that I live on my own so I have rarely use it more than two or three times a week. But to this very day it has never required any maintenance despite my lack of extra care for it (I don't use Calgon or any similar product). Only today I was reading through the manual and it said I should be cleaning the filter, which is easily accessed by removing the front kick plate at the bottom, every 30-40 washes - something I have never done! As it turned out there was no need either as it was virtually spotless.
The different programs are very easy to understand (all written on the front of the powder draw) and you need only turn the knob to the desired number to start the program. Be careful though, as you should select the program before turning it on, as it will start straight away. In terms of noise I have very little to compare with but it does seem very quiet albeit getting slightly noisier over time. The only problem I have is the fairly long cycle times it has on a normal 40 degree wash which can take up to 2 hours but this is countered by a 40 minute quick wash button which has been vital too me on many occasions.
As for the actual washing of clothes I have very few complaints on all but the 90 degree washes which, while rarely used, has left a few of my clothes extremely creased and very hard to iron out - as if I didn't hate that job already! Again on all but the high temperature washes the clothes come out only slightly damp making drying them in my small flat much quicker.
I cannot say to a house wife/husband who washes twice a day this is the machine for you as mine has never been tested that rigorously but if you are looking for a combination of affordability and low maintenance then look no further.

I'm glad you finally got around to reading the manual! Lucky x

hiya, more information is always good. you couldve told folks about the washing cycles it has, any little quirks you noticed. i reread it. i decided i was a bit hard so i rerated it. my only excuse was it was either late at night or i was in pain : ive got a damaged cruciate ligament which is killing me and im bored to death so thats why im here ... reviewing my life to pass the time :)
Advantages: Cheap, good range of programmes, easy to use - everyone does their own washing!! Disadvantages: None so far - I've got everything crossed while I type this!
