I have to admit, when I first played AOE 2, I found the opening menu screen far less appealing that the original Age of Empires. But once I got into the game, I was very impressed. The sequel offers many improvements on the original. The biggest of these improvements in my opinion, is the addition of a pseudo-economy. With a market in place you can now sell you excess wood for gold, or stone. This comes in very handy once all the gold on the map has been mined, it's especially useful in death match/multiplayer games. The Market also allows you to utilize trading carts to generate additional ... more

    Advantages Advantages good soccer

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not good enough

The Belgium Soccer Team is the best they ever had. The problem is: They are not good enough for the rest of Europe. That's why they have no chance on an international stage. The best player is Emile Lokonda Mpenza, 22 years old and scorer for the German Club Schalke 04. Also very good is Marc Wilmots, now playing for Bordeaux. He is able to give a match his personal note. But if he has a bad day, the team plays bad, too. I like the Belgium Team becaus it's a sympathic team, but sorry guys, in Europe you have no chance. ... more

this team promised so much after their opening match but never realy looked like reaching the knock out stages of the tournament played in their own back yard. they lacked the quality needed up front to finish off teams after producing some good chancs and although they had a few good players, they never realy looked like pushing the tops teams all the way for a place in the final. they need to improve if they are to qualify and do well at the next world cup but if they found a decent young player up front, who knows? ... more

    Advantages Advantages Home nation

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No cutting edge

Belgium should have done a lot better in this tournament. After beating Sweden in the first match, they should have gone on to qualify. Even against Turkey they dominated the match and fell to the sucker punch of the counter attack goal twice. What they lacked was a real cutting edge up front, with strikers getting chances, but not being able to put them away. At least they provided the best comedy in the tournament, with their 'keeper's antics. That challenge against the Turkey forward for which he got sent off was incredible. ... more

Advantages Advantages Will be lifted by their fans

Disadvantages Disadvantages Maybe just not good enough to go the whole way

Belgium's chances in euro 2000 are possibly the most difficult to predict out of all the teams taking part. On paper, and on past form, they seem to be a little like England - not a bad side, but just lacking that 'something' which would put them in the class of the more favoured sides such as France or Holland. However they do have one thing going for them this time: home advantage, or at least a share of it. They produced an adequate, if unspectacular performance in their opening game, dispatching a disappointing Sweden 2-1 with goals 5 minutes either side of half time, and held their lead ... more
