I have heard bad reports about this make of monitor lately, but to be honest, in the three years I have had mine it has been excellent. myne has got which has a 15” FST screen, and built-in speakers and mic.
The picture quality is superb, very clear and easy to read and above all stable. There is an excellent range of refresh rates and at the resolution I normally use it at (800x600), I can use a refresh rate of 100 (anything under 72 is normally detected by the human eye as a flickering picture, so causing eyestrain and headaches), and as I am partially sighted (nearly blind in one eye) I can detect flickers more readily than most people as I don’t have true 3D vision.
There is an excellent range of adjustments in the On-Screen Display for colour, brightness contrast and screen geometry as well as volume. Although the speakers are not very powerful, they are more than adequate for most uses and are certainly more convenient than a set of desktop speakers as they save space and don’t need a separate power source.
The monitor is well made, and for me has been reliable, when I bought it, it was one of the few that met the more stringent European safety requirements concerning radiation emissions (in the case of this one TCO95), and due to the length of time I spend in front of it this was a major consideration.
Overall I have been very pleased with it and I would certainly consider another Belinea model when I upgrade.
Advantages: Has a nice clear screen with digital controls Disadvantages: Resolution limitations
I've been using the Belinea103020 monitor for well over 3 years now, and in that time it has only ever failed on me once. To my horror the monitor died completely, but after a quick email to Belinea Tech Support and a replace was delivered the next day. I thought the customer service provided by the company was outstanding. Anyhow, back to the monitor itself. I didn't have any problems setting the monitor up at all, and if you are looking for a nice cheap 17" monitor then this should be a serious option. The only draw back that I should point out is that the monitor is only capable of a maximum resolution of 1152x864 @ 75MHz, anything above this and the refresh rate becomes uncomfortably low. For a low budget monitor it makes for a good deal. ...
