networking offers this one-box solution that lets you share your ADSL Internet connection, files, and peripherals, without cables. It combines two essential networking functions in one innovative product-an ADSL Modem with a 4-port Wireless Router. Operating at wireless speeds up to 125Mbps, the ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router operates on the 802.11g wireless Ethernet standard. This product comes with the Belkin High-Speed Mode (HSM) Wireless G Notebook Network Card. This card connects your notebook computer to your wireless network. With a Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router as the central connection point of your network, your computers can share your high-speed Internet connection as well as files, printers, and hard drives. By achieving networking speeds that are faster than standard 802.11g, the High-Speed Mode (HSM) Wireless G Notebook Card provides increased "real world" networking speeds. You will see overall speed improvements in "mixed mode" networking environments where other 802.11g devices may be present. High-Speed Mode offers even faster speeds in pure HSM networking environments. HSM technology is interoperable with all other wireless devices.Main Specification:Product DescriptionBelkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless routerDevice TypeWireless router + 4-port switch (integrated)Form FactorExternalLocalisationUnited KingdomData Transfer Rate125 MbpsData Link ProtocolEthernet, Fast Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11gDigital Signaling ProtocolADSL2+FeaturesFirewall protection, NAT support, 64-bit encryption, Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), High Speed Mode (HSM) Modems, Routers & Wireless
Wireless Fun to Stop Teenage Tantrums Review ofBelkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless routerby

Advantages: Reliable to use Disadvantages: The helpline waiting tune is annoying!
...difference between this and other Belkin wireless routers?~~~
This one is much faster allowing quicker internet than the wireless B version and is supposed to be 33% faster than other internet broadband connections according to the packaging. Overall there is not much difference just faster and therefore in my opinion better!
~~~What is in the box?~~~
There is a router obviously as this is what sends out the wireless signals to the computers in ... ...is a CD so that Belkin can be installed. Also there is the USB for the computer that has not got wireless installed. If you have more than one computer which does not have wireless and want them to be connected then more USBs can be bought separately for about £20. Also there is a manual on how to put it all together (which I have basically told you) and a phone number to use if you get stuck.
~~~How easy is it to get started and what if I get stuck?~~~

Belkin F5D 7632-4 Wireless Rouer Review ofBelkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless routerby

Advantages: When it works, it is brilliant! Disadvantages: When it doesn't , it inspires computer rage!!!!
...that drew me to the Belkin F5D 7632-4. It was in my price range and offered four cable (ethernet connections) and the wireless capability too.
I would imagine that these qualities might draw you to the same conclusion. So off you trot , cash in hand to buy one from the nearest store. You ask a few questions from the salesperson, who tells you something of which you have no comprehension, but sounds convincing!
Satisfied that you have listened to ... ...up becoming confused.
Belkin refer you to a website. You open your internet explorer
and type in the followng address:- 192.168.2.1. This will direct you to the Belkin website, from which you can can effectively configure your router.
Once accessing the site, you log in,where you are prompted to do so. You are guided to a SET UP WIZARD. This will help you configure your machine fairly easily. IMPORTANT The settings that you make here, are the ...

Perfect wireless home networking Review ofBelkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless routerby
theenglishviet
Advantages: Easy to set up, good range, Disadvantages: Bit bulky
...mainly because I know that Belkin do quality networking products. I already had a modem router at home, but i have three laptops that i needed to connect, and i don't like being bounded by wires (simply because that means everyone ends up in my room!) so i decided to invest in this. Already an advantage, this product came with a free USB wireless adapter!
Firstly, the difference between wireless G and wireless B (802.11g or 802.11b) is that G is ... ...the maximum). I don't know of any other differences, i thought that you get a better range with B, but as it seems there is no difference in the ranges.
So i unplugged my modem, unwrapped the new Belkin, and plugged that in to my current set up. There wasn't much to set up, Just a power plug, the phoneline and a few network cables which connected the PCs. Now i had to apply the ADSL settings from my provider to the modem router so it could connect ...

Advantages: Reliable, easy to setup and use, small footprint. Disadvantages: Gets very got through constant use, wireless adapter software can be annoying at times
The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G Wireless Router was the first wireless router I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough ... ...and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing. The router control panel is simple to navigate and offers a lot of options to configure and use... should you need them. Advanced users can get a lot out of this router but people who are new to networking won't be bogged down with confusing menus.
The Belkin router is not the best out there but it's by no means the worst. Its easy to use, it's reliable but ...

Advantages: easy installation, gets an internet connection in no time, holds what it promises, excellent value for money Disadvantages: a bit bulky
After trying many ADSL modems with integrated wireless routers such as 3Com, I decided to give this one a try firstly because the other devices were so hard to install that I gave up and second because I've read so many reviews saying that it's so easy to install that even a novice like me would have no problems.
I purchased it from Ebay (usually not my favourite retailer) and received it the following day. The router came with one ethernet cable, ... ...I popped the CD-rom in and connected the modem to my PC. The CD-rom contains a detailed help manual, but not any installation drives or anything like that. The modem is ready without needing any drivers. After accessing the modem's settings and making three-four changes such as typing in a primary and secondary DNS, I was connected to the internet within 5 minutes. Next came setting up a wireless LAN on my laptop. This took me much longer due to ...

Belkin networking offers this one-box solution that lets you share your ADSL Internet connection, files, and peripherals, without cables. It combines two essential networking functions in one innovative product - an ADSL Modem with a 4-port Wireless Router. Operating at wireless speeds up to 54Mbps, the ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router operates on the 802.11g wireless Ethernet standard. This standard is backward compatible, so you can use it in combination with existing 802.11b Wi-Fi networks. The Wireless G USB Network Adapter easily connects your USB-equipped desktop or notebook computer to your wireless network for Internet and file sharing. Desktop users can now join the network with the ease of a USB plug-in, without opening their PC cases; laptop users can enjoy the benefits of staying mobile-while connected to the Internet.
What it does:- connects your ADSL connection to an internal network using either cables or wireless. The MIMO and N1 designations show that its at the bleeding edge of wireless standards so its one of the first wireless routers that is (theoretically)... more

I wish I'd read the reviews of this product before I bought, I usually do when purchasing new computer components but for some reason didn't this time... More fool me.

I bought this router from PC World for £29.99 about 3 months ago. (I also bought a new computer from PC World - so the manager used her discretion and reduced it from £44.99)

Wireless networking is great. I know it's stating the obvious, but it's just so great that it's worth pointing out.
Despite being great, wireless networking is not without its problems. Bandwidth, interference, range and security are all common areas... more
