I am an obsessive music lover,my ipod goes everywhere with Me and I mean everywhere, laughs!!! so when I was off on my hols I just had to make sure I would not run out of power 30,000 feet in the air, half way into a 14 hour flight. Like many folk.I love my ipod video but let"s face it the battery life is crap, especially if you watch any videos,so I thought I would try and save a wee bit of money and buy a backup battery, duty free. I came accross the BELKIN BATTERY BACK UP PACK.,at £15 a Managers special at Heathrow, what a find,I had not heard of it but thought at that price I would give it a go. THE UNIT ......................................................................................... Is made of strong plastic, has 4 Green led lights which let You know how much power is left, has a safety switch preventing accidental switch on/off HOW IT WORKS................................................................................ Basically it fits into the bottom of the ipod-where You usually charge it,2 suction caps secure on the body of the ipod very securly and off it goes, although it initially feels bulky,You soon get used to it.takes 4xAAA, IT is better used when ipod battery is almost exhausted.I got an average of twenty hours FROM 1 SET OF 4 TRIPLE A BATTERIES I used it on several occasions, down at the beach,on long bus rides and I loved it. I have heard a few complaints about it not actually charging the internal ipod battery, but lets face it,as it says in the title "Battery back up". Be warned but is only really sutaible for ipod with colour display and video, not for Nano and ipod mini,on the whole I loved it,sadly I left in in a hotel room somewhere in Christchurch, never to be seen again sighs!!!.especially as it costs around £40 to replace, silly Me
Advantages: Extra power for your pod, replaceable batteries Disadvantages: Bulky, wont charge Ipod
Does what it says on the box really.
What you have is a pack that holds 4 x AA batteries that your Ipod can run from. These batteries can be changed when they run out.
The pack has two suckers that 'stick' to the back of your Ipod and is held firmly to the backup pack and a cable that plugs into the base where the sync cable / dock station usually goes.
The downside is that the Ipod will only run from the pack and this will not charge your Ipod. ... ...especially if you want to place this in your pocket, case or something alone the lines of a tune dox (car holder).
The plus side is that you can have a limitless extra power supply and along with a series of four LED's will show you how much power is left. ...

The Battery Pack uses four standard "AA" alkaline batteries that you can simply replace when the charge is gone. Discreet suction cups secure the unit to the back of your iPod, without marring your iPod's finish. In addition, the Battery Pack incorporates a charge-level indicator, so you can tell ahead of time when your batteries are running low, and never be caught without your tunes again. PRODUCT FEATURES: Compatible with the new iPod; Indicates charge levels with 4 LEDs, so you know when to replace batteries; Provides 15-20 hours of battery life; Prevents accidental on/off powering with secure switch; Comes with 2 extra suction cups; Includes 4 AA batteries, for virtually unlimited playing time.
