Advantages: Small, quick to connect to devices like mobiles and pda's. Good value for money. Disadvantages: You must read the instruction manual well to set it up properly.
I purchased this product just after Christmas and so far, I have not had any problems with it.
The first thing I must say, is that you MUST make sure that you read the instruction manual before doing anything else. From my experience, if your computer has windows xp and 'service pack 2' installed (usually automatically added when connected to the internet). Then you must install the software first and before plugging it in!
Once you have set up the bluetooth adaptor onto your computer (this took me around quarter of an hour) it truly is a marvellous piece of kit. Personally, I bought the BelkinBluetooth adaptor for several reasons:
1) It works with basically all programmes needing a bluetooth dongle.
2) To connect my bluetooth mobile phone to my laptop so that I could store data (pictures etc.) and copy over appointments ...
approx. at online shops and im not sure about high street stores. But since we got it free that's ok. Its unlikely you will get this headsetfree now because as I was sad to hear? Its discontinued. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on it you might as well pay the £50 as it is quite a solid we thing and wont break down on you.
-Other notes-
this is an old headset but that doesn't mean its bad. There are lots of new headsets on the market with lots of different weird and wonderful features but I still like this one. Its style, its shape everything about it is just so.. Well.. Nice.
I would buy this one if I could.
-Conclusion-
This is a small easy to use headset from motorola, it can be used with any other Bluetooth phone and won't let you down. Although it is discontinued now it is still good technology and if you can find one ...
Advantages: Tiny, LED, Protective Cap Disadvantages: Annoying features installed
an icon in the taskbar when installed.
I use Bluetooth in conjuntion with Nokia PC Suite, which quickly found my Nokia phone and let me comunicate with no problems, what I did find however was after 10 minutes of Bluetooth being on I began to get a headache, alot like the first time you get a mobile phone, I guess due to the waves being transferred. If you are around bluetooth alot you will probably be used to it, but it was quite unpleasant.
One feature I really dislike is when Bluetooth is installed it is added to many parts of your system, such as My Computer, the taskbar and even Internet Explorer. Considering I use bluetooth maybe once a week for my phone I found the added bluetooth options (such as sending webpages via bluetooth) un-needed and an annoyance. I assume this is with every Bluetooth dongle however and not just a Belkin ...
