I bought this one a while ago from comet for I think around £20, I bought it mainly because it was the cheapest one there and secondly because it was the same make as my actual wireless router which is also a belkin.
The only downside I experience with this was for the first few months it seemed to cut off the internet connection and stop working, sometimes for a few minutes at a time. This always logged me out of my AOL service provider and also msn If I was on it. This however has now stopped happening, so im not too sure what the initial problem actually was, but it hasn’t happened for a few months so everything looks ok now.
After a few attempt of trying to set it up myself, (as I always try doing things without reading the instructions first) I failed to manage on my own. So out came the instruction manual and it was set up in about 10 minutes of my time. It is easily enough to follow and if you do have any problems they do have a customer helpline, however I do know from expatriate just how bad belkins customer service is.
Also after trying this on my laptop, which actually has wireless built into it, the wireless adapter still worked just as good as the laptops already built in wireless did.
Altogether this is a good little wireless adapter, it works well and doesn’t look too bad on a desktop, also its cheap too, and was the cheapest when I bought it, so if your looking for one then this would certainly be a good buy.

Review of Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter
Advantages: Great range and speed Disadvantages: none yet
The thought of having wireless appealed to me for quite a while, primarily as a way of transferring files in an ad-hoc network. This was a great idea as I use many pc's in the house and when I am with my mates. I bought it for £20, reduced from £25 although there was nothing wrong with the product.
It comes supplied with a stand which has a lead of about a metre which means it can sit on your desktop. The installation cd is easy to understand and ... ...of computers is required but most of the things that you need to do are explained in the manual. After that you can get to work.
I had it running a network in a relatively short period of time and it could pick up networks a distance of ten houses away, which meant it had little trouble working within the house. I never had a problem with it and it ran with a good speed - up to its full potential.
It is quite compact and the L.E.D on the unit itself ...

Advantages: Good for short term. Disadvantages: Easily broken.
*The Product*
This shape was easily handled when used with a computer, the wire connecting the USB could be plugged in at the back, and then never moved again. However, this is not quite the case. The wireless would often cut out, and then back on again, and I found the only way to get the wireless to stay on for any long period of time was to unplug it from the computer, and replace it back in moments later (a favorite technology trick). When used ... ...long wire, and it is simple to plug into the laptop at a port and leave without the worry of it dropping out. Although it is secure in it's port, any movement of the laptop could cause bending of the Wireless Adapter, as I discovered much to my chagrin. The apparent 'High Speed' as according to the title leaves much to be desired as well, and I can personally vouch that it has taken a lot longer than what could be considered 'High Speed' to load ...

...to be a viable solution.
Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USB Adapter Network adapter connects with a PC or Laptop to pick up signals sent by a Wireless router. This network adapter is external and will fit into (plugged to) a USB 2.0 port.
Many broadband providers will supply a free router (or a router at a subsidised price), but with a Router but you will need a networking card or an adapter to go wireless.

...same time i brought the Belkin Router,
Immediatly after unpacking the device, the Poor Quality stood out. The Stand that the Adapter plugs into is very cheap and made of light platic with no solid base. This makes it fall over easily and move all over the table. The network utilty had a very poor interface, Crashed often and often reported that the adapter was not connected to the network when in fact it was as i could transfer data successfully. ...

Advantages: Flashing light, fairly reliable, can use windows software with it, does its job Disadvantages: Software that comes with it, cheap base, reboot sometimes required before use
At first it was incredubully frustrating. Then I was able to get the windows wireless network utility working with it and suddenly it was 1000000 times more reliable. Sometimes you have to reboot before you can use the adaptor again after unplugging it, but after a quick reboot, it is working fine again.
