I had used inbuilt wireless in my laptop (an HP Pavillion tx1000, that I have also reviewed) for two and a half years, until my internal wireless failed and couldn't be easily replaced. I decided to buy an external USB wireless adapter to solve my internet problems, and chose the Belkin Wireless G USB adapter, as other members of my family use them and they are not expensive.

product worked fine in my friend's car. I have a Y-Reg Volkswagen Polo, which has a side-load cassette mechanism... so don't buy this if you have a Volkswagen! I used to have a Sony cassette adapter, which worked perfectly, but sadly it broke, giving the reason why I bought this one. The durability of the Belkin one looks even worse. It is very delicate, any slight touch to the wire or the portable device causes bad sound quality.
If you want my advice... if you have a modern head unit in your car, it will probably have aux inputs at the back. So buy an aux to 3.5mm jack cable, and connect it to your head unit. This surely would produce better sound quality.
Anyway, the Belkin case holder which fits my iPod to my dashboard that came with the cassette adapter is great. Pity I just can't listen to it :(

Also after trying this on my laptop, which actually has wireless built into it, the wireless adapter still worked just as good as the laptops already built in wireless did.
Altogether this is a good little wireless adapter, it works well and doesn’t look too bad on a desktop, also its cheap too, and was the cheapest when I bought it, so if your looking for one then this would certainly be a good buy. ...
