Advantages: Good connectivity Disadvantages: none significant
...We recently changed from wired connection to wireless Broadband after much debate. The demand for computer use, sharing of computer time was becoming a big hassle and going wireless and networking the main PC and Laptops seemed to be a viable solution.
Belkin Wireless High Speed Mode USBAdapter Network adapter connects with a PC or Laptop to pick up signals sent by a Wireless router. This network adapter is external and will fit into (plugged to) a USB2.0 port.
Many broadband providers will supply a free router (or a router at a subsidised price), but with a Router but you will need a networking card or an adapter to go wireless.

Advantages: Speed and number of available ports Disadvantages: Occupies one PCI slot, no USB2.0 driver yet!?
...Belkin - a name you can trust for quality hardware. That is enough justification for me, having struggled for ages (and failed miserably) to get the USB ports on my motherboard to work reliably (VIA Chipset - yuk!).
So, I head straight for the shops to find a plug-and-play USBcard so that I can add some working ports to my PC, and connect up my new digital camera without messing about with serial communications errors.
Belkin seemed to have the answer, this four port USBcard that plugs into one of my motherboard's spare PCI slots. As a bonus, it also claims to support the new USB2.0 standard. Not that I need version 2.0 just yet, but it always pays to be ahead of the game if you can afford it.
So the box arrives, and I eagerly unpack it - only to find that Belkin have pulled a rather mean trick. They haven't written the USB2.0...

Advantages: Ultra-compact, sleek form factor, powered Disadvantages: Can' think of any
...This is one incredibly small USB2.0 hubs. It's about as big as a credit card (albeit a bit thicker), and it's very convenient to carry around - perfect for laptop users.
What I like the most about this hub is that the cord actually retracts into the hub itself when not in use. The downside to this is that the cord is extremely short - about a cm or two long. However, this didn't really pose a problem to me. If you need to place the hub further away from the computer, a USB extension cable is provided.
This is a powered hub, that means you could plug in the provided AC adaptor if your USB devices need more power. I've used a variety of products with the hub (pen drive, USB hard drive, wireless keyboard, webacm), and everything worked like a charm.
If you are using a desktop, it might be better to get a USB hub that comes with more...
