What is it?
--------------
This wireless modem/router allows you to share your ADSL connection and files without cables.

What does it do?
----------------------
The modem part connects to your ADSL phone connection and the router connects to your computers either via the 4 port wired ethernet connections or via the 802.11g wireless ethernet standard.
This standard is backward compatible with existing 802.11b wireless networks.

More details?
------------------
Transfers data at speeds up to 54Mbps
Features security modes including WPA, 128bit WEP and 64bit WEP encryption.
Protects your network from hackers by ising NAT and SPI firewalls
Connect 4 wired computers to your network
Works with PC's and Mac's (I use both and they share files/connections easily)

The manufacturer - Belkin
-----------------------------------
I have used Belkin products for years and only ever had one problem. My previous modem/router died - no power at all, tried a different power adapter but still the same. So, rather than go and buy a new one (this one was 2 years old) I decided to use the Belkin lifetime warranty. I had a brand new updated model router on my doorstep within 2 weeks. I didn't pay a penny - they even paid for the postage. Wonderful service.

My personal experience of the product
----------------------------------------------------
The wifi range around my house is great - much better than my current BT HomeHub. Just make sure you place it in a pretty central location in your home. I had mine in the cupboard under the stairs.
The 4 port router was wonderful - had my Xbox connected to it for Xbox live - no problems.

You can buy network hard drives now with ethernet connections so one could be connected here and all the computers on your network could share the hard drive - makes it so easy to watch movies/listen to music stored on the hard drive on multiple computers.

I even managed to stream movies using wifi from one computer to another which was connected to my TV, there were no drops in connection.

The NAT firewall has managed to withstand all the security probes I have fired at it. Top marks for that.
The firewall is easy to manage through the user interface - it is all set out very nicely and easy to navigate around using your web browser.

The modem itself is easy to setup, I had my BT broadband details to hand and entered them on the welcome screen - within seconds I had my connection up and running. A few minutes later i had WPA security setup and my connection was secure.

How easy is it for my computers to connect to it?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
My laptop uses the Belkin PCMCIA wifi card - connects no problem.
The PC upstairs uses a Belkin USB wifi adapter - connects no problems
My Apple iMac uses Airport extreme and connects no problems
My Apple Mac Mini uses a Belkin USB wifi adapter - this can cause some problems and needs to be pulled out and reinserted after starting the computer for it to be recognised. No big deal - I just keep the computer on 24/7!
Xbox - connects via ethernet - no problems at all
Nintendo DS lite - connects via wifi, no problems whatsoever - can even connect whilst i lying in bed so I can play people all over the world - much to the annoyance of my wife!

Summary
-------------
I bought my router new from PC world 3 years ago for £79.99, you can pick it up on eBay for about £25 - worth every penny.

I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to setup a cheap, secure and good ranged wifi network.

Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router wireless router by Foneroni

Advantages: Compact, added benefits such as security etc
Disadvantages: Setup not so simple when User Manual not included!

...I ended up buying the Belkin ADSL Modem with Built-In Wireless Router (F5D7630uk4A). The price of this was £89.99. The reason I bought the Belkin product above the others was firstly because the sales assistant recommended it and also I have used Belkin products before at work and found them to do the job perfectly well. At this point I should like to say that I consider myself reasonably well informed and educated on IT issues having worked in ...
...but that aside I think Belkin could do a better job of making it clear which cable is which etc. So after making all my connections I followed the instructions and switched my PC on. The next step is to go to Belkins web based page which is where you can set your router up. This means there is no installation CD which you often get with other peripherals. At first glance it seemed east enough - I had the information I needed from my ISP, such as ... Read review

Advantages: Good range, excellent speed, easy set up
Disadvantages: filters and ports can be hard to set up

When it comes to sharing an internet connections there is nothing easier then using one of these babies, when I first tried to share out internet connection I firstly tried just using two standard wireless cards to connect to computers, what a nightmare that was, then one day we gave up and went for one of these babies this resolves the issue of having to leave the computer with the ease of use of this unit. Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router wireless router by review123

Advantages: Strong signal, great after sales support, works well!
Disadvantages: Needs some tweaking to get it going

...as a bundle with a Belkin wirless laptop card and thought the price was pretty good (120) compared to internet prices or other brands. Now, i'm not walking around a 3 story house with my laptop, I just wanted good reliable, always on, broadband for my laptop anywhere in my apartment. When i opened the box, i noticed the network card came with a 30 page manual and the router only came with a 2-sided setup card.(I was scared!) I hooked the thing up ...
...I rang the 0800 Belkin support line for Europe on the back of the box at around 9pm at night and was put straight through to an american helpdesk. This guy was great! He walked me through the entire process without being rude or condescending. He took the name of my ISP and immediately had all of the necessary details, settings to hand. I was up and surfing in about 15min. I had cause to ring back a couple of days later when my connection wasn't ... Read review

Unmitigated garbage
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with Wireless G+ MIMO Router - wireless router by  gvincent3000

Advantages: Make a good Paper weight
Disadvantages: Drops Connection, Poor coverage

...After Unpacking This router, the supplied DSL Filter was DOA requiring me to spend $20 to purchase another one. The Setup Interface is very poor, Slow and Clumsy. Manual is hard to understand. Signal range is pathetic, i receive a stronger signal from my neighbors d-link router in the House next door than this router placed directly upstairs. Frequently drops internet connection. Requires constant reboots, sometimes three times a day. password has been set to prevent unauthorized access to the setup page but the router still allows any one access without a password prompt. Investigating other reviews of all of the different belkin products, this is not uncommon and serious questions need to be asked why a company is allowed to get away with making such trash.... A good, solid investment with a couple of niggles
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by  sosull

Advantages: Reliable, easy to setup and use, small footprint.
Disadvantages: Gets very got through constant use, wireless adapter software can be annoying at times

...The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G Wireless Router was the first wireless router I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough and I didn't experience any issues. I had one Ethernet connected computer but I did set up everything first with a wireless computer using the supplied Wireless G USB adapter. The adapter works very well, is good and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing. The router control panel is simple to navigate and offers a lot of options to configure... Read review

Great
Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with Wireless G+ MIMO Router - wireless router by  acciobean

Advantages: Design, keeps speed, can provide access to many computers at once
Disadvantages: The adapter sometimes stops working

...Because in our house, we have two computers we decided to buy a router in order to enable both computers to have access to the internet, meaning less fighting over the computer. When we first bought it, setting up the router was very simple - just insert the CD and off you go. However, we did have some problems installing the wireless adapter for the second computer but finally managed it in the end. Since then our network has been running pretty much smoothly and the internet also still as quick as it was before. One annoying thing is at times, the adapter isn't able to pick up the signal of the router even though it's the closest router around. Randomly, the adapter also appears to uninstall itself and therefore won't work until you keep pulling it out and sticking it back in s
