Belkin USB BusStation
Review of Belkin USB Busstation 7-Port - hub - 7 ports by sbenbow

Advantages: Very versatile, handy, and easy to use
Disadvantages: A bit more expensive than some other "cheaper" hubs

...The Belkin USB BusStation is an extremely easy way to expand your USB ports / serial / com / ps2 / Ethernet ports. The basic package comes as a 4 bay stackable system, with one base 4 port USB hub, and 3 other 1 port USB hubs. All are removable and can be exhanged for other Belkin hub products. This means total diversity. You could, for example, have 4 x 4 port USB hubs (a 16 port USB hub in total). The BusStation has it's own power supply, providing a true 500 mA per port current, with an overload protection system on each port. Currently, Belkin are giving a £5 rebate back if you send off the barcode on the bottom (or a £10 rebate if you send off the barcodes from a BusStation and one other Belkin hub product). Reasonable prived KVM solution
Review of Belkin 2-Port KVM Switch with Built-In Cabling - KVM switch - 2 ports by howletts

Advantages: price, simplicity
Disadvantages: no USB keyboard/mouse connector

...This product does exxactly what it says on the tin. It lets you view and control two computers from one monitor, keyboard and mouse. It is PS2 only though and not USB - so if you have a very new PC without PS2 ports then this one is not for you - look on this site for one with USB connectors. Switching between machines is simple, just one key press to switch. One word of warning, if you plan to use this to just connect up the monitor cable and not use the keyboard and mouse connections (as I tried) it will not work as the device needs to collect power from all 4 connectors. With just 2 connected it suffers from lock ups. Tech Support soon helped me sort this out though ;) When connected as specified however it works perfectly!... Read review

Great value
Review of Belkin OmniView SOHO Series 4 Port KVM Switch - KVM switch - 4 ports by webspot

Advantages: Quick and easy to set up
Disadvantages: Video may get interference

...I've had this KVM switch for a number of years now, since my previous one only had two ports. I found this one fairly cheap somewhere. You're supplied with all the VGA and PS2 cables for each of the 4 connections. You can then plug these cables into your computers. The button on the top allows for quick switching. But as well as using the button for switching between computers, you are also able to use keyboard shortcuts. These are pretty common in KVM switches, and belkin manage to do it the same way as everyone else. Great for people that are already used to using a KVM switch. The KVM switch has a useful beep, which can be helpful to understand when a command was received by the switch. The switch also has a port for plugging in power. This helps improve the quality of the picture as there is more power behind it. Most of the time... Read review
