Manufacturer's product description
When John Atanasoff constructed the first semi-electronic digital computing device in 1939 he never could have imagined that over sixty years later, Belkin components would carry every SCSI cable imaginable. The Micro DB68 Male to Centronics 50 Male Pro Series (fast and wide) SCSI III cable is used to interface any two SCSI devices, like a scanner and CD-ROM, wherein one has a Micro DB68 female port and the other has a Centronics 50 female port. PRODUCT FEATURES: Rated for SCSI III applications; Double shielded (braid and foil) to meet SCSI specifications and ensure compliance with FCC requirements reducing EMI/RFI interference; Low-capacitance impedance matched 28 AWG stranded tinned copper are individually insulated in polypropylene; 25 tightly woven conductor pairs ensures that each data line is paired with a ground line to minimize interference ensuring error-free data transmissions; State-of-the-art wiring design ensures 100% compatibility; Gold plated copper contacts for a clean clear transmission; PVC premold encapsulates individual conductors to eliminate stress; Flextec PVC rubberized cable jacket is extremely flexible for use in tight areas; Aluminum undermold shield helps meet FCC requirements; Ground indents provide excellent conductivity and retention with mating connector.
...Reliable and easy to use cable - a must for anyone making a home network or even a business network. Although Belkin have released a few inferior products in the past, this cable brings thenm right back up again.
Category 5 cable such as this is the highest-quality UTP Cable. It is tested at 100MHz, allowing it to run high-speed protocols such as 100Mbps Ethernet and CDDI. Category 5 Cable also uses either 22 or 24 AWG unshielded twisted-pair wire and impedance of 100ohms.
It connects with RJ45 connectors (avaiable cheaply)
RJ-45 connectors look a bit like a standard phone connector but are twice as wide (with eight wires). RJ-45s are used for hooking up computers to local area Networks (LANs) or for phones with lots of lines....

Advantages: Good cable, Disadvantages: Quite pricey
...Network cables are maybe not the first thing you think of when considering a network but they should be.
You can have a super fast router but if your cable isnt up to it, then why bother. Belkin are the standard setters in the network cable world. If you want top quality then you buy belkin. So if your considering sharing an internet connection to play games etc then you really need decent cable.
However, if like me you only share your connection for browsing and downloading, then you don't really need this kind of high quality cable. I personally have cable running that I bought for £2.14 for a 15m cable (that includes the connectors on the end). For internet browsing etc this is fine.
In conclusion, if you need speed and low ping times then belkin is the way to go. You can even use the snagless cable to allow easier running...

However if you are looking to use a CAT5e cable of longer length or for external requirements I recommend you contact a dedicated cable supplier, such as Universal Networks to ensure the suitability and safety of your product.
*Conclusion*
For a home user the BelkinFastCAT5e fulfils all the necessary requirements. Data, voice and video are flawlessly transmitted at high speeds, and the installation process is generally very easy. The network cable is ideal for file sharing and for broadband sharing, whilst maintaining speed and reliability, and the product is designed with manoeuvrability in mind with its...
