Manufacturer's product description
Gold is one of the most sought after metals in the world. So Belkin has added this precious metal to its top of the line GOLD series IEEE 1284 printer cable, making it the fastest parallel data transfer available. The Gold Series Parallel Printer Cable attaches your IEEE 1284 printer with a Centronics 36-port to your PC with a DB25 port. The cable features 24K gold plated corrosion-proof connectors for maximum conductivity. PRODUCT FEATURES: 24K gold plated corrosion-proof connectors for maximum conductivity; Fastest data transfer for maximum performance (up to 10 times faster than non-compliant IEEE 1284 cables); Tactilite molded strain relief provides a 360-degree turning radius for true protection against damage to the conductors; Tactilite overmold is a supple polymer designed to increase flexibility while maintaining durability; Flextec cable jacket is very durable and extremely flexible for use in tight areas; 24K gold plated copper connectors provide maximum conductivity with no data loss; Oversized ergonomic thumbscrews make installation a breeze; Double shielded braid and foil to meet IEEE 1284 specifications, and ensure compliance with FCC requirements, reducing EMI/RFI; 18 tightly woven conductor pairs have each data line paired with a ground line to minimize cross talk, noise and other interference, ensuring error-free printing; Ground indents provide excellent conductivity and retention with mating conductors; PVC premold encapsulates individual conductors to ensure electrical isolation and relieve stress; Aluminum undermold shield helps to meet FCC requirements on EMI/RFI interference; 28 AWG stranded tinned copper conductors are individually insulated in polypropylene to minimize cross talk, ensuring high-speed, error-free transmission.
...Now iv not done a review on USB cables before, really its just never hit me that I could actually write about these and there’s also the fact that there’s not really much you can say about a cable, but ill give it a go.
This is a normal printercable which means it has two ends, one being the end which goes into any USB port in your computer or laptop, this end is the rectangle shaped end and is called a type A.
The other end is which goes into your printer, and don’t worry as nearly every printer made has this kind of end so it will definitely fit, and this end is kind of square in shape and is known as the type B end.
It transfers data to your computer at speeds of up to 480 mbps, that’s megabytes a second which is really fast and is about 40 times faster than USB 1.1cables.
The cable its self is 1.8m which...

Advantages: small, no power supply needed Disadvantages: very old hat, will not work with all printers, bad instructions
...I bought this item because I wanted to link my printer to a laptop (using a wireless print server) and my desk top (by cable). What was NOT made clear by the supplier (in fact any supplier on the net offering this product as far as I can see) is that this switch is as good as obsolete. Belkin should ,in my view, withdraw this product from there line as they do make a modern version at much the same price. As is often the case with Belkin it will do the job but not fully and after a lot of fiddleing about. Firstly it comes in the usual clear heat sealed package which must be attacked with a knife to gain entry, once your in and open the 'installation booklet' it says in large bold letters 'this item will not work with multi-funtion printers' Would be nice to know that BEFORE you open the packet in this modern day when a large number...

Advantages: Good cable, Disadvantages: Quite pricey
...Network cables are maybe not the first thing you think of when considering a network but they should be.
You can have a super fast router but if your cable isnt up to it, then why bother. Belkin are the standard setters in the network cable world. If you want top quality then you buy belkin. So if your considering sharing an internet connection to play games etc then you really need decent cable.
However, if like me you only share your connection for browsing and downloading, then you don't really need this kind of high quality cable. I personally have cable running that I bought for £2.14 for a 15mcable (that includes the connectors on the end). For internet browsing etc this is fine.
In conclusion, if you need speed and low ping times then belkin is the way to go. You can even use the snagless cable to allow easier running...

What it does:- connects your ADSL connection to an internal network using either cables or wireless. The MIMO and N1 designations show that its at the bleeding edge of wireless standards so its one of the first wireless routers that is (theoretically)... more
