THis is one of my favourite gadgets. 2 things accompany me when ever I go away, My Ipod and my camera.
Using the unit is simple, Attach your Ipod to one end, Attach your camera using the USB > PC cable that it was supplied with to the other and press a button. The LEDs will flash and let you know whats going on and a few moments later you have your pictures stored on your Ipod for later retreival.
We use this in a scenario where our canoe club has a number of cameras , all usually filled with images and video by the end of the day with no access to any PC's. This device allows all images to be stored and the cameras to be used again.
The unit is self explanitory, the USB can only go in one place, the Ipod is connected using the Ipod connector and there is only 1 button. If that is not simple enough then the basic instructions are printed on the back of the reader itself. The size is similar to that of an Ipod and is in the same white styling.
The only downside is the battery. With a life span of a couple of gig (2 camera loads for those with a gig card) a weekend away with loads of pics requires a few replacements. This, as with anything else using batteries, is never specific and judging how many more transfers you have left can be an art form.
Highly recommended, if you take many pics and have no access to a PC for a few days. I have used this on both long weekend canoe trips with friends and for the couple of weeks camping with the family, invaluable for both.
