Bought this a few month ago, got to say out of all the routers such as Netgear, D-link Etc i found this to be the easiest to use, the most secure and just simply the best thanks to its many, many.. MANY features.
Design
Well what can i say, its sleek its modern and its just beautiful. The material in the black is the same as they use on iphones, which gives it a modern, reflective, "glassy" kind of look to it. The small screen is not the most amazing and advanced i must admit, but it still looks amazing because of the material around it showing off the blue of the screen. It is really light, i mean REALLY light, i was shocked because it looked like a fairly heavy object when i first saw it. The buttons on the front are smooth and reliable and can be used to navigate around the built in menu and panels easily, even with big fingers. I give the design a 9 out of 10 simply because instead of the cheap plastic that they used for the silver colored parts they really ought to have used a nicer looking material.
Speed
It can go up to 300MBS which i have seriously tested and they are not wrong, it does go to 300 but if you use wireless it wont make a difference because you would need a Wireless N laptop card or an Wireless N Usb Dongle to reach full speed. The speed keeps fairly constant throughout its use and is perfect for any internet connection, i am currently on a 20Mb connection from Virgin Media, which has been criticized as being slow and unreliable but since i switched to this from my D-link i has been downloading at 2-Meg per second, and no speed is lost AT ALL. I give the speed 10 out of 10 as it doesn't seem to have any noticeable flaws.
Reliability
Well for one, it never freezes up, it always runs nice and smooth. It keeps a constant speed even when connected to up to 16 different computers, all using wireless. I would give this a 9 out of 10 for reliability, it would get a 10 but there are 2 things that make it unreliable, the cheap plastic would seem like it would seem like it would brake if falling onto the floor and the other thing is that over wireless it seems to choose when it wants to appear in the network manager but this can be easily fixed if you remember the address to get onto the router settings.
Installation
Its a very basic installation can be done on the computer of done on the onboard display, its a simple matter of plugging the wires in then turning it on and clicking a few buttons. Took me literally a minute to get connected to the internet after powering it on.
Features
These are the reasons it is worth every penny. For one, i set my own home server up on this which can be viewed from over the internet in just 30 minutes, it is so easy to set up. Also the security features are Insane, it is like a safe. Nobody is going to get into this, but on the off-chance that you make a weak password and somebody figures it out, the on screen display tells you who is connected to the network, this makes it easy to kick them off it and ban them from ever hacking into again by banning the address that the computer uses to connect. But my favorite feature personally is the most basic one, the clock.. The on screen display has a panel with the time and date on, this is updated via the internet automatically and makes it a nice accessory for anybody's desk. But the best thing about it is, it has a glow so you can see the time in the dark, it is just like a real clock. I give the features 10 out of 10 because they are done perfectly.
I would easily recommend this product, in my opinion it is better than amazing and should be used more than it is.
This product is the best, its worth so much more than the £100 i paid for it and since you can get it cheaper i really think you should consider it.
