Advantages: Extended range, capable of streaming HD video (mostly) Disadvantages: Susceptible to interference, needs matching adapters
.... Previously a big issue for wireless networks, some bright spark figured out that if you could bring all the seperately bouncing signals together and 'patch' them back together you might be able to get a complete signal where previuosly you just had broken bits. This DOES work quite well though best results are with matched adapters and routers so figure in buying replacement adapters when considering the cost of this router.
N1 - the latest wireless protocal is 802.11N, this is still NOT official, but everyone (including Belkin) was bringing out 'Pre-N' kit which, in general wouldn't talk to other manufacturers. So the people who set standards have standardised a, err, draft standard call 802.11 Draft N (catchy!) and the current crop of 'N' kit is the industry response - it SHOULD be upgradeable to the true spec later (but they said that about...

Pictures in the glossies of people sitting on their deck in the garden, or relaxing by the river, laptop open with unfettered access to their files back in the office help break the myth that you need to be where the Internet is to use it. Why not bring it to you, be where you want to be and make it follow you?

Advantages: works with macintosh computers Disadvantages: no major ones really, design
...In my opinion this Belkinwirelessrouter seems to work very well set up on a imac g5. This then give off the wireless signal for a powerbook, it works well and there are no major problems . There is always lots of signal everywhere around most rooms of my relatively large and spacious house. Easy installation, took about 45 or so mins . However i have to say that it is not that pretty and i'm not so sure on the design but i dont really care cos it works very well and there are no( to my knowledge so far) major operationg problems. The signal is fast and reliable. I do not know how it works with windows pc's....

Advantages: Convenient, fast and reliable Disadvantages: Expensive for what you get
...The Belkin ADSL Router with built in modem allows both wireless and wired cables to connect to the internet and function as part of a network.
With a network, computers connected to it can share files and resources such as printers. An internet connection can also be shared which is the main benefit of this router because an ADSL modem is built in.
The built in ADSL modem makes the router expensive. That and because it features the new 802.11g connection standard makes its retail price at £100.
A wireless 54g router on its own without the built in modem can be purchased online for about £50.
Setting up the router is easy. The web based setup interface includes a wizard so you just have to enter the required information (obtainable from your ISP) and everything is set up within a few minutes or so.
The only criticism about the Belkin...

Advantages: Reliable, easy to setup and use, small footprint. Disadvantages: Gets very got through constant use, wireless adapter software can be annoying at times
...The Belkin ADSL Modem Wireless-G WirelessRouter was the first wirelessrouter I owned. It materialized in my home due to the sheer distance of my computer from the phone socket and running an RJ11 phone cable across the house was not a viable option. The router came with a thin but multilingual instruction leaflet which outlined the initial un-boxing and setup but it really could have been more concise. Nevertheless, initial setup was easy enough and I didn't experience any issues.
I had one Ethernet connected computer but I did set up everything first with a wireless computer using the supplied Wireless G USB adapter. The adapter works very well, is good and stable but the supplied Belkin adapter software is fiddly to use and can be confusing.
The router control panel is simple to navigate and offers a lot of options to configure...
