I bought this router as my old one was USB connections only. The price was fairly reasonable from Curry's (£58) and the salesperson gave me enough advice to feel able to set it up on my own!
It comes with an installation CD which explains the process in plain english, however, the manual on the CD re-routed me a lot when I found problems after initially installing it onto my laptop. It installed but wasnt picking up my IP address. I called the Belkin helpcentre (which is a lo-call number), and they were very helpful, they found my IP address and directed me to an 'online' page which houses all of my info about the router. Here, I can change my security settings or test my internet connection amongst other things, and I dont have to be online to do so.
I've had no problems with it at all since. I play online games a lot, and had to change the settings to allow UPNP to play Xbox live. I've got my Xbox and PS3 plugged in and haven't once been unable to connect (touch wood). It has plenty of connection points and is small enough to be tucked away easily. The only thing I would say is that the plug is huge! But this is a minor gripe and doesn't affect the performance at all. It also comes with its own firewall which is good for extra security.
Overall, I found it easy to use, easy to re-set during the initial set up problems, and the helpdesk was very helpful and didnt drag the call out. Definite value for money.
Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine
...INTRO
The BelkinN+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wirelessmodemrouter offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with a second hand Belkin, which worked fine but unfortunately, a power cut killed the wireless on it. Liking the performance of that cheaper Belkinrouter, I decided to stick with Belkin and get this one!
DESIGN
The router looks very stylish and stands up tall rather than laid down flat. It doesn?t appear to have been designed to be laid down flat like many other routers, which may...

Advantages: Fairly easy to set up, easy to use, reliable, looks good. Disadvantages: Bandwidth Innacurate.
...; from the photos I'd seen of it, I'd always assumed it to be small (I should have really looked and found out the dimensions but I was so desperate to get it ordered as there was only one left in stock that I never bothered) but it's no problem really, just a surprise and I thought I should mention it to you as you may also be considering it and thinking it's a really small router.
This router comes in both cable and ADSL versions so anybody on any of the normal ISPs should be fine to use one of them, dependant on what internet they are being provided, ours is a cable one. The router is a wirelessN1 which means that the data transfer rate is up to 300mps over the network instead of up to 54mps which is what you get with standard Wireless G technology. It also has a wide coverage area which means that if you want to go and use your laptop...

Advantages: Looks Great, lots of features, High speeds, Can connect to 16 computers wirelessly at once. Disadvantages: Stand and back is made from cheap material, And Nothing else is wrong with it.
....
I give the design a 9 out of 10 simply because instead of the cheap plastic that they used for the silver colored parts they really ought to have used a nicer looking material.
Speed
It can go up to 300MBS which i have seriously tested and they are not wrong, it does go to 300 but if you use wireless it wont make a difference because you would need a WirelessN laptop card or an WirelessN Usb Dongle to reach full speed.
The speed keeps fairly constant throughout its use and is perfect for any internet connection, i am currently on a 20Mb connection from Virgin Media, which has been criticized as being slow and unreliable but since i switched to this from my D-link i has been downloading at 2-Meg per second, and no speed is lost AT ALL.
I give the speed 10 out of 10 as it doesn't seem to have any noticeable flaws.
